A Mighty Heart debuting in June
I’m really excited that A Mighty Heart will be coming out soon. Starring Angelina Jolie as Wall Street Journal reporter Danny Pearl’s wife Mariane Pearl, the film is based on Mariane’s memoir, A Mighty Heart: The Inside Story of the Al Qaeda Kidnapping of Danny Pearl
. The film recounts Danny’s kidnapping and eventual murder by Al Quaeda terrorists while the couple was in Karachi, Pakistan, and while Mariane was six months pregnant with their first child, a son, named Adam. In the face of death, Danny’s spirit of defiance and his unflinchingbelief in the power of journalism led Mariane to write the book as a way for her son to learn about the father he never met and to honor Danny’s spirit of defiance and his unflinching belief in the power of journalism.
Since becoming involved with the film, Angelina has become very close friends with Mariane, and Maddox with her son Adam. Earlier this year, Angelina and Brad Pitt made a donation of $100,000 to the Daniel Pearl Foundation.

I’m very excited about this film. I have read the book and Daniel and Mariane had a very special kind of love. The book is a brave and wonderful tribute to their son Adam and I hope the movie is too.

OMG I can not wait for that movie to come out! I mean, I totally love Angie anyways, but I remember watching this story on the news and being so moved by it… such a sad moment =[

Can’t wait to see the movie. I’m so glad that Angelina is the one who ended up playing Mariane Pearl, I can’t think of anyone better for this demanding role!
