Melania and Barron Trump at Central Park on Saturday
Melania Trump, 37, took her son Barron William, 13 months, to play at Central Park on Saturday. The mother-son duo enjoyed the swings and played with toy trucks. Barron wears Babystyle’s ‘My Mom is My Idol’ toddler tee ($22).
Last month, Melania told People,
He’s a very smart boy with a lot of energy – sometimes he’s hard tocontrol. He is very smart and very serious. He’swalking and talking: He says Dadada and Mama. He’s throwing a lot ofstuff and he’s just an amazing, amazing boy.

why is he wearing three different hats? is the ny yankees hat the same one his mother was wearing b/c if so I cant believe that have the same head size!

He is such a beautiful little boy. He looks like he is having so much fun too. Which as parent is always awesome when your little one has fun.

Yeah that’s interesting that Baron’s seemingly wearing a different hat in each picture. (Well I guess they can afford it! lol!) Still though I think the top & bottom hats are the same, it’s just tied in one but not the other.
I do think that he probably is wearing the same Yankees cap that Melania had in the first pic. Melania might not have had the hat cinched very large when she was wearing it and/or Baron has a large head! lol! (Or she could’ve adjusted the strap tighter for her son.)

He is an adorable little fella. Too bad his dad is well….peevish and annoying. I wonder when the lovely Melania is going to be replaced and who is the next Donald Flavor of the Year?!
May 7th, 2007 at 2:56 pm
How are his clothes still white? Particularly those shoes! If my daughter wears anything light colored, it gets stained within seconds.
May 7th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
He’s so cute. But why is he wearing girl shoes?
May 7th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
So good to see that beautiful little guy out with his mother. I think I would faint from shear shock if I ever saw a candid photo of Donald out with his boy, but at least his mother enjoys spending time with him. Love the outfit!
May 7th, 2007 at 3:36 pm
He is adorable!! I agree though, why does he have Mary Janes on? Seems strange…
I also agree with whomever said that she would die from shock if Barron was ever anywhere spontaneous with Donald. I feel for the kid having that (insert bad name here) for a father, but his mother seems to want him to have a “normal” life as possible. She seems like a terrific mom!

I can’t believe I’m actually defending Donald Trump but a couple of these posts seem awfully harsh. Yes, he has been married three times – 15 years to Ivana, 6 years to Marla (though they were together for longer than that) and he’s been with Melania since 1999. The guy is over 60 years old and has had three major relationships in his life and they are referred to as “Donald Women of the Year”? He also has 5 children, many of whom have spoken highly of him and must not detest him that much or they wouldn’t be working in the family business. He may not be everyone’s definition of “perfect husband and father” but I can think of alot worse.

That style of shoes are quite common in Europe for both boys and girls when they are toddlers, especially among families who like their children to wear traditional/old fashioned clothes. They are called t-bar shoes, as opposed to mary janes.

Melania and Barron are not sharing the same hat. Melania’s hat is an adult hat and Barron’s is a children’s hat. He probably just had two hats in his stroller or diaper bag, I wouldn’t find that too surprising. I love the outfit minus the shoes. He is such a cutie though!

Sorry but I have to defend Donald too. I think he is a good father, just because he isn’t out pushing Barron on the swings doesn’t mean he’s not dedicated. He does work for a living

I think he’s one of the cutest celeb babies ever…he just looks like a rich kid…maybe because he is always dressed so well. When it comes to babywear I vote he’s dressed the best!!!
May 7th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
He is a gorgeous baby boy!
May 7th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
that’s 2 hats not 3. The first and the third photo show Barron with the same white hat, only in the third pic he has the strings on that hat fastened.
May 7th, 2007 at 6:24 pm
Barron is such a cute little boy!
He’s growing up so fast.
May 7th, 2007 at 7:09 pm
he is a cute kid. Just ashame Trump is his daddy. I don’t care what people’s opinions are on him, I personally can’t stand the guy!!
May 7th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
LOVE the shoes. The little boy I nanny for has some just like them. You guys who say they are girl shoes must not be from the South, as they are quite common on boys here.
May 8th, 2007 at 4:55 am
I think he’s only wearing two different hats, the Yankees cap and that white bucket one (just the one he doesn’t have the strings tied). Maybe his mom switched hats depending on how hot the sun was and she wanted more of his face blocked from it. Who knows…
Anyway, he really is a cute little guy.
He looks a lot like his mom to me, smile and all.

I don’t really care about Melania Knauss.
May 8th, 2007 at 7:50 am
How adorable. Whats with the criticism. Just seems like people are TRYING to find things to criticize his hats, his shoes, and his father, Yeah I get that Donald may not be father of the year.
May 8th, 2007 at 8:25 am
They’re classic baby shoes and have been around forever. Melania is European, with a more classic, traditional sensibility. I’ve seen shoes like these on Damian, Liz Hurley’s son. I was given a couple similar pairs by European and Quebeqois friends when my son was born.
May 8th, 2007 at 9:17 am
I’m from the south, and I’ve never seen boys wear shoes like that…only girls. Pretty silly looking, in my opinion.
May 8th, 2007 at 10:11 am
What an adorable baby boy. I love seeing Melania and him have so much fun together. And wow with the white clothes. I don’t know who is harder on them, my daughter (who is 12 months old) or me!
And why must some people have to find SOMETHING to criticize in everything? You can’t just say nice things and be done with it?
May 8th, 2007 at 10:45 am
Barron is just adorable. I love seeing Melania and him together, just having a fun mother-son outing!
And I have to defend Donald Trump, here. I know you either hate him or you love him, there’s no in between. I actually do like him and I think he’s a savvy businessman. He’s turned out some pretty great kids. I mean, Don Jr. and Ivanka are not partying every night and getting arrested, are they? I think Donald might have had something to do with that. That’s my opinion, though.
May 8th, 2007 at 1:34 pm
Barron is absolutely adorable but, of all things, why is everyone picking on his shoes? Haven’t any of you seen old pictures of your fathers and grandfathers when they were babies? For a long time, that’s what little boys (and girls) wore. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a style that’s still popular in Europe. Some of you people really have to stop being so damned ethnocentric.
May 8th, 2007 at 9:01 pm
Bethany, I’ve nannied in Little Rock, Nashville, Memphis, and Atlanta and seen them in all those cities. Maybe it’s just a different class of people? Also, they are adorable, and people have been wearing them a lot longer than Thomas the Tank Engine shoes!
May 8th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
He has nice eyes, he looks a lot like Donald. Nobody really knows what kind of father he is only his kids know that, and they seem to love him. Just because he isn’t changing diapers everyday, he isn’t your regular 9-5 dad, he is donald trump anyway you slice it and a businessman. That doesn’t make him a bad dad, there are a lot of things to judge parents on, as I’m sure nobody here is a perfect mother or has a husband who is a perfect dad. I’m not saying he is perfect, but nobody knows him or what kind of father he is personally, and his older children turned out fine, as I’m sure Barron will.
May 9th, 2007 at 1:17 pm
I think you’ve nailed, it Liz.
I think the more traditional clothing is more predominant in the South, too. (but obviously it’s not ubiquitous…)
You see those shoes on children in other WASPY parts of the country, and always in pictures of the children of European royalty. You have to search high and low and pay a lot of money for those shoes, which in our ancestors’ time were the norm for all children, male, female, well-dressed or otherwise!

Cute kid! I don’t know what all the fuss is about as to his shoes. Heck, I wore red single strap Mary Jane style shoes up to age 11 when I grew up and nobody said a word about them. Young kids can wear just about anything.

The little Mr. Trump is not wearing girls’ shoes.
Simply because you’ve never seen boys wear T-straps does not mean they are ‘girl’ shoes.
Boys and girls have traditionally worn T straps and in many places they still do.
Too bad most are now labeled Mary Janes as they were originally known as sandals or strap shoes.
When shopping online for baby shoes you will find at least 30 pairs listed as ‘unisex’.
Even older boys wear T straps.
Finally a cute kid in something other than sneakers (which eventually rot on your feet).
