dwell introduces dwellkids, bedding for kids
dwell bedding just launched a new bedding line for kids, dwellkids. The modern bedding is available in twin and full sets and contains dwell’s fresh distinct look. I am so excited because Josh and I love dwell’s modern approach to juvenile design. (Anya has their clover blossom print.)
Christiane Lemieux, founder and chief creative director of dwell, tell us that almost as soon as dwellbaby was launched in 2003, customers started asking for bedding for when their children moved into big boy/girl beds. Using the same colors and patterns as those found in dwellbaby, the new collection includes linens for the twin and full-size beds used by older children.
The lighthearted animation of Garden, with its design of winding branches, leaves, and blossoms, has a lyrical quality with broad appeal. Likewise, the geometric dot pattern of Chocolate Dot is whimsical and elegant. Even the playful horseshoe/cactus/boots graphics of Cowgirl contain a wit that can easily find their way into an older child’s room.
A refined color palette also helps to bridge the gap between dwellbaby and the new collection. As Christiane states, “We like to stay away from pigeonholing kids into powder pink and powder blue. If we do a pink, it’ll be an off pink, anything from a dusty rose to a deep, burgundy pink. Not every young girl loves powder pink.”
All linens are packaged in an appealing set that includes duvet, sham, flat sheet, fitted sheet, and pillowcases. Dwellkids is available in nationwide (stores can be found on dwellshop.com).
