Official pictures of Princess Mary’s new baby released
The world has gotten its first official glimpse of Crown Princess Mary’s gorgeous new baby, nicknamed ‘lille pige’ — Danish for ‘little girl.’ In the pictures — which feature the baby both alone as well as with 18-month-old brother Prince Christian and proud father Crown Prince Frederik — it can be seen that the latest addition to the Danish royal family has dark eyes and hair, just like her mother.
Photographer Steen Brogaard said the as-yet-unnamed child was a model subject.
She’s a very nice little princess, she behaved well. She is beautiful. The whole family is beautiful.
The baby, born April 21, will not be formally named until her July 1 christening, per Danish tradition.

She is the complete opposite of her brother! dark features are pretty evident! i never realised how similar mary and fredirik look!

I never know that the Danish delayed naming the child until the christening. I kind of like that idea. By that time, parents know this little person a bit better and can pick a name that really suits the baby.
Anyway, the princess is a beautiful baby!

She looks like Prince Frederik while Christian looks like Princess Mary. Their babies are simply gorgeous.

I could be wrong on this, but I think they go ahead and name the baby; they just keep it a secret until the christening. It’s formally announced at that time, but privately the baby has had a name.

Oh my goodness that girl is to adorable! She does look a lot like her father, but with her moms eyes and hair. The little Prince looks like he will be a good big brother.

Prince Christian looks TOO CUTE with his lil baby sis! I love this royal family soooo much.. plus the fact that Princess Mary is such a down to earth person and I’m aussie like her!

Christian has the Danish light coloring, while the princess has the darker coloring from her mother and her French grandfather. Frederik’s father, the Queen’s husband, is French.

Cutest baby! You don’t see that many tiny ones with such a cute smile
My boyfriend is Danish, but since he was never christened, he was named right away (the naming thing is true). Because of that, the local priest would walk by them in town and say… there goes the kid with no name.
