Well, I know it is a maori name. Both Rico and Taina are maori. Hosea is Rico’s brothers name. It is a not so common maori name.

Whai is a Ngapuhi Chief, and Mauri is a Ngati Awa chief, so it seems that they are honouring their tribal heritage, as both ngapuhi and ngati awa are maori tribes.

Rico looks like he is Maori, so I’m sure it’s a cultural name. “Mauri” refers to life force or aura.

Whaimauri is quite a rare maori name, my brother is called Tane which means ‘god of the forest’ and as a part new zealander and a part maori heritage is really important so I think its awesome that he’s got a maori name. I’m sure he’ll be known by ‘Hosea’ but cultural belonging is a fantastic thing. Congrats to Rico and Taina (i LOVE her name), I bet he’ll be a gorgeous little guy

whai muri is a maori name yup we under stand that its probley a maori name for one of his tribes cheifs ngati porou or titangamahaki!!
or maybe nah i think it is a mori name for either rico or levi!!hoseas name is in there cause thats the god father and ric and hose are close!!

Whai is the stingray, a strong and graceful animal. Also Taina’s mother is from the beautiful Anaura Bay, Te Tairawhiti and the taniwha of Anaura is a large white stingray. Mir as previous posted is correct Mauri is life force and putting them together we have Whaimauri. Taina and Rico are of Ngati-Porou and Mahaki descent.

Rico is so handsome and im sure he’s wife deserves him… i cant believe they have a baby, there goes all my hopes and dreams. Yeah well im sure Whaimauri is the cutest lil thing…
