Amanda Peet: Happily unemployed

Amanda Peet’s new flick The Ex hits theaters today, but she’s in norush to get back to work anytime soon. She is preoccupied and perfectlycontent at home with her daughter Frances Pen, 10 weeks, with husband,screenwriter David Benioff.

I don’t know yet [when I'll get back to work]. We’ll see how my baby does.I’d love to do some good scripts and hopefully not have to go too faraway from home.

Afirst-time mother, Amanda has help from her own mother, Penny, Frances’namesake, and says the best advice she’s gotten from others is to trusther instincts, which have so far served her well.

The actress also portrays a new mother in The Ex and loves how motherhood is presented in the film.

The portrayal of motherhood was in some ways more real than what weusually see. I love that the movieis poking fun at these women who are completely obsessed with theirchild’s developmental stages and the type of people who, all they do isgo to Mommy & Me class and talk about having the right stroller.
