"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Jennifer Garner pitching new talk show for moms

Tags: News

Next week, Jennifer Garner and Lauren Sanchez-Whitesell will present their idea for a new talk show — described as The View for mothers — to a major television network.  According to Lauren, Jennifer would produce the show and make occasional on-air appearances like Barbara Walters does for The View, while Lauren would serve as host.

We’re putting together a show for moms, by moms.  We’ll talk about how to get your kids to sleep, or how you can choose the right school, or how to keep your marriage together after having kids.  Jen might talk about how to keep a marriage together when you’re in the spotlight with a child.  She’s photographed picking up trash in her front yard.  She’s photographed doing everything.

Lauren is mom to 11 month old son Evan with husband Patrick Whitesell, who represents Jennifer’s husband Ben Affleck.  She also has son Nikko, 6. Jennifer and Ben are proud parents to 17-month-old Violet.

  1. Nikki Says:

Yes i’d totally watch! I love Jennifer Garner and being a stay at home mom of two that would be a great thing to watch during the day!

  2. Chimene Says:

Yes. Oh Yes! I absolutely love Jen. She is such a great mom and to hear her view on motherhood along with other moms would be great. It is always great to hear other moms view on motherhood. It makes you feel as though you are not alone.

  3. Maia Says:

I believe Lauren also has a son, Nikko, from a previous marriage to Tony Gonzalez. I’m guessing he’s about 6 now.

  4. michelle Says:

I would for surely watch. I am not a biological mother now but have been raising kids for 13 years and would love to have a show that helps me out with the everyday things I do. It would be great.

  5. Raebees Says:

Heck yeah!! But we don’t have cable so it depends on which “major television network” it’s airing on.

  6. Stephanie Says:

I would definately watch! I love Jennifer Garner. Plus, I’m a SAHM of a 9-month old daughter and almost 6 months pregnant with another girl so mom shows are always something I’m looking for to watch.

  7. Carrie Says:

I would probably watch, at least initially, but continuing to watch would depend on the hosts’ personalities, and how universal the information presented is….i.e. a whole segment on the most expensive baby boutiques in the country – that wouldn’t be useful to me. And if they use the same parenting, child-rearing experts as all the major networks and magazines, then that wouldn’t be anything new. It would definitely need a niche besides just “for moms”.

  8. Christy Says:

Michelle, bearing a child doesn’t exactly make one a “Mom”. I have 4 kids, whom I have raised, and am only biologically related to 1 of them. They are ALL my kids!

  9. Kim Says:

I would definitely watch! I think that’s a great idea!

  10. Principesa Says:

    Ditto Carrie!

I think this niche had its time. With the amount of information available to parents, I don’t think a TV is the ideal medium for thoughtful, well-presented parenting insight.

This mom barely has time or any interest to watch TV. I prefer to spend my precious ‘me time’ doing something a lot more stimulating and engaging.

  11. yaosa Says:

I agree with Carrie and Principesa!

I think we rely too much on televison for information which is highly questionable. And I, too, prefer to spend my ‘me’ time doing something more engaging than listening to a celebrity talk about parenting. Their experience is so far removed from mine. It could be entertainting but I am skeptical if it would be relevant for me. Most of my inspiration and guidance for parenting comes directly from being around my children and recognizing and accepting that I am not always a perfect mother (although my children always tell me that I am the best mother for them) and that I do and will make mistakes. I only hope my children can learn from them as they age.

Having said that, I also feel that celebrity experiences can be helpful for some people and so my motto is ‘to each his own’ so I have nothing against such a show but I wouldn’t be interested to watch it.
