Jon Heder welcomed daughter Evan last month
In better-late-than-never news, Jon Heder and his wife, Kirsten, have announced the birth of their daughter Evan Jane. On March 28th, Jon said that Kirsten was due "any second" — we hear Evan was born April 6th.
Aside from the news that Evan was "safe and sound andhealthy," and her name, no additional information was released.

I was wondering how long it was going to take to hear about this…Why do some celebs talk constantly about their soon-to-be babies and then when the baby is born, it takes months to hear about it? Just weird to me…
We had heard that Kirsten had a very difficult pregnancy, so perhaps there were issues or they just wanted to wait a bit before they announced.

I have two problems with that name. # 1. Evan is a a male name. It’s the Welsh form of John. And Jane is the female form of John. Her name is basically John John.

I like the name Evan, for boys only. I don’t think it suits a girl at all. I mean, you wouldn’t name a girl john would you? So why name her Evan?

Yay! I’ve been waiting to hear about this! The last thing we heard was that she was “due any second”….and then nothing about when that “second” came! Imagine….Napoleon Dynamite as a DAD!
As for the name, I think it’s cute! Who cares about the origin. There are A LOT worse names out there in Celebrity-ville!

I totally agree with Candace…who are we to critisize someone name choice for THEIR child??? Like Candace said, there are a lot worse names out there…do I even have to mention them?

I forgot all about that impending birth. My oldest son is named Evan. It has a pretty sound so I can see why parents may like it for their daughter. but for my son’s sake I hope not too many!!!!

personally, i love “evan” as a girl’s name… who are we to make a definite decision on what is a “boy’s name” and what is a “girl’s name”? there was a time when “ashley” and “leslie” were boy’s names.

I’m so excited to hear about this!
About two weeks ago, it was reported on Jon Heder’s wikipedia entry that the baby was born on May 2nd, and it’s name was Suri May. It’s since been updated though!
