"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Angelina Jolie: ‘I want to be a great mom’

Tags: News

In part 1 of Ann Curry’s 2-part interview with Angelina Jolie, which aired this morning on the Today Show, the actress broke down in tears when discussing the January death of her mother Marcheline Bertrand.  That event, combined with the adoption of her fourth child — Pax, 3 — led Jolie to refer to 2007 as "a heavy year."

I’m very aware of time, and of memories, and of enjoying life.  I want to be a great mom, like my mom was…I’m at a strange place in my life.  I think that happens when you lose a parent…I’m holding on to my family really tight at the moment because of that.  And trying to be as good a woman as I can be.

In addition to Pax, Angelina and her partner Brad Pitt have three children:  Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2 and Shiloh, turning 1-year-old next week.  Part 2 of the interview will air tonight on Dateline NBC.

I think she´s amazing, no one can imagine how hard it has to be to be followed by cameras all the time and trying to live your life and be a good person and still be hated by some people who don´t even know you… I really admire her for what she does as a goodwill ambassador and I really want to see that new movie of hers, but above all I think she´s a wonderful mother.

Angie states that she “wants to be a great mom”. There’s an old saying that goes something like this…”you have to love yourself before you can love someone else”. Well the same rule applies here except you have to be a great person before you can be a great mom. A great mom doesn’t abandon a newborn baby to go to work. A great mom doesn’t employ 3 or 4 nannies to do her job. Lets just keep it on the straight and narrow please Angie. I am a reader who doesn’t buy into your 24/7 act. Oh ya, and I too happen to be a mother except I don’t long to be a great mom, I am a great mom!

I caught the interview this morning. When she started tearing up when talking about her mom I started to tear up too. She’s lucky to have Brad and the kids during this difficult time.

Life is a constant stream of changes and no matter how hard we fight to keep things constant, they change nonetheless and so do we. Seeing this video made me think of my own parents and yes, I cried as well – it’s impossible not to. But like me, Angie is very lucky to have had a wonderful mother. She is doing great, and her mom would be very proud of her.
