Lindsay Davenport welcomes a son

Tags: Births

Tennis star Lindsay Davenport, 31, and her husband Jonathan Leach welcomed their first child, a son, on Sunday, June 10th. Jagger Jonathan weighed in at 8 lbs, 1 oz, and was born three weeks early by c-section at 6:15 pm in Newport Beach, CA. The early birth and c-section were due to complications that were not specifically revealed.

Her agent remarked that Jagger and Lindsay are both doing great.

She announced her retirement from tennis shortly after revealing her pregnancy.

While Jagger is a neat name, it seems to be the latest celebrity “it” name for boys. It was cool at first but now it’s starting to rank up there along with the likes of Ella and Ava.

On another note, congratulations to Lindsay and Jonathan. I think it’s nice that he has his father’s first name for his middle name. Hope everyone’s happy and healthy! I didn’t even know she was expecting…

Jagger Leach? He is totally going to get beat up on the playground.

  3. Morgan Says:

Jagger seems to be a popular name these days….!

  4. Kathy Wardley Says:

Congratulations Lindsay and Jonathan and welcome to the world baby Jagger.

  5. Anne Says:

Another goofball name from goofball parents. What is this generation thinking? Did you consider Jigger, Tigger, Bagger, Lager, Codger, Dodger, Swagger, or even Bjorn?? Despite your inability to pick a name that will not denigrate your child, congratulations, Lindsay and Jon.

  6. Ray Says:

Congratulations to Lindsay and Jonathan. Lindsay has always been one of my favorites. My sister interviewed her for the Orange County Register years ago and she used to live at Newport Beach, which I visited as well. A picturesque community to raise a child in.

  7. Mary Says:

I love Lindsay and congrats to her! Jagger is an odd sounding name, hard to pick something to go w/Leach. (Bloodsucking comes to mind, hahaha). My maiden name was Pugh, ick.

  8. Lily Marshall-Fricker Says:

I am so happy I got to meet you! You rock! and thanks again for the jacket!
