Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s in Love with Swaddle Designs Lovies
In a recent issue of US Weekly, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was pictured grasping her Lovies from Swaddle Designs ($15.95). These soft cozy comfort blankets offer a variety of textures to soothe and comfort small travelers.
Made with small fingers in mind, Swaddledesigns Lovies have a variety of textures from flannel to bumpy velour, to fluffy fur, all backed and trimmed with satin. Shiloh carried the Fuchsia Polka Dot in Flannel and White Plush Dot with Sage Satin designs, both available at Bunnybury Baby. Babies love to hold smooth satin against their skin and faces. The texture is known for its ability to soothe and comfort, and pediatricians recommend the use of such security objects. I wrapped my now 9 month old son til he was probably around 4 months old and lost the startle reflex which tended to wake him up and get him upset. I don’t wrap him now generally as he’s a pro at sleeping unwrapped but when he’s overtired I find it can still help to wrap him nice and snuggly.

My 1st baby fussed when she was swaddled. It was like, “I’ve been cramped all this time. I don’t want to be cramped any more!”
My 2nd baby fussed when she was swaddled, she fussed when she wasn’t swaddled.
My 3rd baby ~ Too busy to swaddle.
My 4th baby ~ Swaddle who??

I Swaddled My First one He LOVED it, we swaddled him till he was almost 5 months old, and my NEWEST (she is 3 days Old) We Swaddle her and it comforts her.. Both of mine LOVE(D) it!!!

Yes, swaddling mimics the sensation that baby felt in the womb. It also provides wonderful proprioceptive and tactile stimulation for baby.

My comment isn’t about swaddling kids (I don’t even have kids at the moment!), but about that picture of Shiloh: Does anyone know where I could find that picture? I LOVE seeing pictures of Shi, and would love to see that one. Or did CBB already post it?

Swaddling saved me from going insane. My daughter is 4 months and still sooks until she is swaddled at night. i believe its her reason for sleeping through the night at 6 weeks. she squels when she sees the swaddle blanket now. i totally recommened swaddling. i didn;t even know what it was until the midwife at the hospital did it to her and it stop the crying that she had been doing for the first 2 days.

We started swaddling with cotton muslin blankets recently with great success. I was sold on the instructional DVD bundled with the pack of 3 blankets from Luna Lullaby at http://www.lunalullaby.com. Now our baby sleeps through the night, no problem.
