British actress Amanda Redman longs for baby at age 48
Amanda Redman, the 48-year-old star of British television shows At Home With The Brathwaites and New Tricks, recently revealed her devastating struggle to maintain a pregnancy, having suffered nine miscarriages and two ectopic pregnancies. Amanda lives a happy life with her partner, designer Damian Schnabel, and 18-year-old daughter Emily, her child from a previous marriage — but still dreams of adding a baby to the mix.
It may seem crazy but, at 48, having a child still feels like a possibility.
Although Damian doubts Amanda’s claim that she will happily handle overnight diaper duty, he supports her in her quest to become a mom again.
I had Emily but all attempts afterwards failed. I could conceive but couldn’t carry them to term…One of my miscarriages occurred early in my relationship with Damian. Given that he doesn’t have children of his own it might have been a stumbling block but he was strong and supportive.
