I love this father/son duo! Russell may come off as a tough guy to the media sometimes, but I bet he’s just a big ol’ teddy bear behind closed doors.

I agree Jessica! I think these two are absolutely adorable!!

Sweet pic but Russell is not 38. He was born in 1964, which makes him 43. Just thought you’d like to know for next time!
Sarah’s note: I looked up his age as I was writing to the post, I have no idea why I put 38! I knew it was 43! I changed it — thank you.

I don’t know Jessica. Men who have a short fuse outside the home, usually also have it inside their home. It does not stop at the front door. I am sure he loves his son to pieces, but I hope he is able to control his temper with him.

What a wonderful picture.

Why is it we never see their other son, Tennyson?
June 22nd, 2007 at 5:11 pm
We do see the other son, just not as often. There have been two different instances where little Tenny has been out with the family and another with Charlie and Russell.
As for the short fuse comment, I have to wonder how we all would stack up under the scrutiny of the public eye or how we would be represented in the media under that same scrutiny. I highly doubt very well, and because of that I’m not going to judge anyone.

How can this not lift your heart? It’s a beautiful photo, and moment, no matter who it is! Thanks for posting it!

I simply love this picture, is so cute! Remember that when Charlie was under 1 year old we almost didn’t see him either, so, maybe it’s just the same thing (keeping that “first” year just for themselves
).
Do you know what his shoes are? I just love them! I only can see they’re Nikes.
