Pettiskirts take down tutus in Tinseltown

Tags: Celeb Style

All due respect to tutus. We’ve certainly had scads of fun watching our kids twirl around in them. But there’s a new skirt in town and it’s just fabulous. It’s so special and terrific it needs a whole new name. Please don’t call Kaiya Eve’s creation a tutu. It’s a pettiskirt!

Kaiya Kaiya Eve Pettiskirts first burst onto the fashion scene when Dakota Fanning picked up a pettiskirt ($80) at Fred Segal, which she wore to the Teen Choice award in 2003. Since that time they have been an LA Boutique Staple. Faith Hill has bought several skirts for her daughters and friends at Auntie Barbara’s Boutique. Molly Shannon recently bought pettiskirts for both her own daughter, Stella, and Adam Sandler’s daughter, Sadie, as well, at hip shop Flicka. And Britney Spears was photographed while shopping at Sweetpeas and Snapshots, purchasing a hot pink pettiskirt.

Kaiya2 The skirts are available in a wide range of colors, including rainbow and leopard designs. They look great on their own over leggings or styled under a skirt to give it extra pouf. Kaiya Eve skirts are machine washable and made from yards and yards of fluffy nylon chiffon, which means that they are soft and comfortable, even against sensitive skin. No itchies.

My own daughters have been kicking up their heels in Kaiya Eve’s pettiskirts for little over a year and the skirts have held up amazingly well. They were the talk of all the mom and papa-razzi at their school talent show last week.

This is awesome…I was dying to buy my girls pettiskirts for Christmas…and NO ONE discounts these things since they are so popular! Thanks!

  2. mandy Says:

How much are these pettiskirts? Do you have to be a celebrity to afford one?

  3. margaux Says:

    oh these I LOVE!

  4. Frances Says:

You can find these at a discount, they just don’t have the Kaiya Eve label. These are actually square dancing slips, lol! One place to find them cheaper is http://www.thebelovedchild.com :)
