"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Madison’s Room: Happenin’ Hair Clips

CbbI’m a mama to a toddler boy so I don’t get to check out cool girl things very often. So, you’re going to flip like I did when you see these attractive hand-made hair clips from Madison’s Room. They’re crafted by hand and so charming! But more importantly, these clips are not going to hurt your little girl’s scalp! The back of the clip are cushioned and they will hold fine hair extremely well. And did I mention that they are very striking?? These clips range from the frilly feminine to hip and happening! With such collections as Big French, Petite Pair, Gator and Gator Novelty, these clips are not to be missed.

I checked out 5 of the clips. They were absolutely beautiful (and fit me so perfectly) that I was tempted to just wear them myself. But then I figured my four year old niece and her almost two year old sister would go gaga over them (and they did).

The first clip I saw was the Gator Novelty Abby. So delicate, this bright pink base with a striped blue and green grosgrain ribbon is topped with a kelly green double-layered felt flower (with a sparkly crystal in the center). The second clip was the Gator Novelty Apple. Perfect for the classroom, this red and white polka dotted grosgrain ribbon has a darling red crochet apple with a green leaf on it, topped with a green crystal. It’s lined with red velvet for comfort. That actually was my favorite clip, probably because I love apples (and used to do an apple theme in my classroom when I taught). For the next clip, greet the beach with the Gator Novelty Flip Flop: a red grosgrain ribbon with white polka dots), topped by two blue crochet flip flops with tiny beads on each one. The last two clips were the Danielle, the sweet pink and chocolate brown clip and the Jackie, a multi-striped clip. These last two clips will be included in the new launch of designs this summer (so you have to wait to get your mitts on them!).

The story behind this company is heartwarming too. After years of infertility, Cynthia Lee and her husband has a little girl named Madilyn. 3 years later, baby Allison came along to round out their family. The name of their business combines both girls’ names. This is a family business, Cynthia creates and designs the products, and her husband, David, handles the financial and technical side. Inspired by their girls, these hand-made clips get tested out on the girls and their playmates.

The company also offers beautiful hand-made knit caps and headbands. To get some of these great items for the little cuties in your life, go to madisonsroom.com. They are offering our readers a 15% discount (excluding the knit caps), enter the code "Mom". For an additional discount code, type in the code "Allison" for free shipping, when you spend over $50.
