August is so beautiful. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I don’t like it when people hold babies in the air like that. It scares me. And with one hand!? It just makes me uncomfortable. I’m also a bit paranoid about people carrying their babies on their shoulders.

I just love the second photo, he’s going to be a ladykiller when he grows up! And I love his t-shirt too!

Aww, looks like he had a great first birthday. And, well, I just love seeing photos of him, period. Debra and Roman look great, too. ♥
Seriously, can I just take August and Peter home with me for a few days, hours? I’d give them back to Mariska. Promise! LOL.

Looks like they had a great time, love how the moms are making faces for the kids.

WHERE is my spoon?! Seriously. I could just eat him up. He is the cutest boy in Hollywood, or, New York, rather : )

August is such a beautiful, happy baby boy. Roman looks adorable too. Looks like they were all having a great time.

It’s not just you, Nausicaa. If I were there I probably would have had a heart attack, bracing myself to catch the baby if anything had happened. I know that people do it all the time, and August wasnt in any real danger or anything, but still, my heart can’t help skipping a beat when I see this.
Either way he’s adorable! It’s really nice to see a “normal” kid having a “normal” low-key birthday in the park with his friends. He seemed to REALLY enjoy it!!

Oh my gosh!! How cute is August?? His Mom and Dad are so lucky…to have each other and a beautiful, healthy child, too!! She seems to be the best Mom!! Happy Birthday to August!!

Nausicaa and Zoey I totally agree with both of you! I have an uncle who always does that to his little boy and it would nearly give his wife a heart attack. The last time he did it was at a friend’s house when he didn’t realize there was a ceiling fan! My cousin is just fine, but my uncle will never live it down.
I just shudder when I think of all the times a child has tried to backflip out of my arms and try not to imagine the consequences if that happened in this case…
But anyway, he’s an adorable baby and they are a beautiful family. That looks like it was a really fun birthday party!

he is too adorable…nice to see a casual ny party, especially among celebs. his t-shirt is cute, too, my kids love made u look…i got a lot of their stuff at The Silly Wagon, definitely worth checking out…

Wow, the kid of a celbrity wearing what looks like an acutal T-Shirt? for Petes sake it looks like something you’d get at Target or Walmart. There’s nothing wrong with that though, it’s nice to see a kid dressed like a kid instead of a model for Baby Gap.
It looks like they had a bunch of fun, I can hardly believe that August is a year old already!!!!!
P.S. Aren’t August’s facial expessions just the cutest things? he has such an experessive face!

August is a beautiful baby, one of the cutest celebrity boys IMO. He has a unique exotic look to him, his mom’s features and his dad’s blue eyes. Central park is a great place to have a party, my friend did her daughter’s birthday there once, so beautiful in the summer. Love to see Mariska with him, she looks so in love with her son.

my goodness, August is the cutest celeb baby around!!! And this pic is just priceless, I just love Mariska! I hope she has another one soon!

That second photo made me cringe…. If that baby suddenly lurched backwards, there’s no way he would be able to catch him in time.
My dad used to hold my twins upside down to make them laugh and I couldn’t stand it. I was so afraid they might drop and hit the floor head first. I guess I worry too much about that sort of thing. LOL

Wow, I really love this FAMILY!!! I’m so amazed at how exceptionally hands-on parents Peter and Mariska make. It’s only obvious how much they love each other, that it’s to be reflected on how much they love and care for their son.
I hope they to will expand their beautiful family soon…hopefully a little sister for August!

He is such an adorable baby and Mariska seems like such a good mommy.
That said, some of you guys worry too much. My parents threw me in the air, lifted me above their heads, I drank out of glass bottles and plastic bottles, I played in the dirt, I ate dirt, I didn’t always wear sunscreen, I didn’t always wear a helmet–neither did any of my siblings or cousins, or my aunts and uncles~and believe it or not we all lived to be healthy adults.
Kids are kids, they are going to fall down and go boom. The way some of the people on here talk you would have people being breastfed until they were 18, and living in a very small padded room (because god forbid they hurt themselves), and having their parents barely touch them. Let loose guys, have fun–let your kids eat dirt and give ‘em a good one handed toss in the air…they will laugh and squeal and you’ll be shocked when they don’t die.
Please note I don’t mean this to be derogatory in any way shape or form, it just gets old seeing that on every single posting there is at least one comment saying that something is wrong/harmful/has the potential to be harmful–until I see a picture of a celebrities kid running around with a sharp object, near an open flame, with broken glass on the floor, I’m gonna hold my “THAT’S DANGEROUS” judgment.
