"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

American Idol’s Katharine McPhee has baby Phever

Tags: News, Quotes

American Idol singer Katharine McPhee may not know what the future holds for her career in the fickle music industry, but she does know that no matter what happens, her future will include children.  The Over It singer shares her desire to have several children with Stuff magazine in their August issue, saying,

I want to have, like, 15 babies. I’ve always wanted to be pregnant.

Even her dream Halloween costume included a pregnant belly, she adds.

One year for Halloween, I decided to be pregnant, so I got this nun costume, and I put a big belly under it. I showed my parents and said I want to go to school as a pregnant nun. My dad sat me down and said, ‘Katherine, you can’t!’

Katharine, 23, is currently dating stage performer Nick Cokas, who is nearly 20 years her senior.  She says she has had a thing for older guys ever since she became legal.

When I turned 21, I thought it was a good age toexplore. You’re no longer a teenager, so it’s okay [to date olderguys]. I gravitated toward them, and I love them. They’re just wiser, and they’re less about themselves and more about you.

  1. Laura Says:

I completely understand how she feels–I feel the same way as she does.

You see, that it’s rather complicated to share these feelings with my friends who are more interested in sports, dating and everyday things.
This article actually has helped me to know that I’m not alone at all.

Like her, I always have known that I’m meant to have a family. I just knew. I didn’t need people to tell me what I want.

This quote says it all– “but she does know that no matter what happens, her future will include children.”

  2. dee Says:

U r not alone Laura, i have always know since i was a little girl that i wanted to have children. I agree and understand where u r coming from and i agree with almost everything Katherine mentioned, except dating guys too old. I will only date someone no more than 12 yrs older. But, i am also glad that i am not the only one that feels this way about having a family.

I can’t help but question whether people who date much older men have “daddy-issues” cause 9 times out of 10…

I wouldn’t question individual circumstances, but what concerns me is the statement “they’re wiser, their less about themselves and more about you.” It just sounds like she’s looking for that paternal attention she either got too little of or refuses to go without.
    Concerns me a little.
