Penny Lancaster talks about losing baby weight ‘the natural way’
Rod Stewart loves the post-baby body of his new wife Penny Lancaster, and Penny concurs. Being a mom to 19-month-old Alastair has made Penny feel "more confident" and "womanly," she recently told OK! magazine.
Rod prefers my body since I gave birth … Obviously I put weight on, but I honestly didn’t care. I loved getting big! I was determined that my baby’s care came first.
That attitude prevailed when it came time to feed Alastair, whom Penny nursed for nine months — an accomplishment which the 36-year-old model credits with much of her weight loss.
For the first nine months with breastfeeding, I kept up my calorie intake and my exercise routine consisted of pushing Alastair in his pram…It’s only now that I feel I have got my figure back. But I’ve done it the right way, the natural way.
The couple — who wed in Italy last month — are not finished having children, with Penny declaring that "we will be trying for another as soon as we can fit it in" and that she and Rod "are ready now!"
We’d both love one in another year. A little girl would be wonderful as it would be a little playmate for Alastair. We’ll be happy to stop at that.

Her healthy attitude towards weight and nursing makes me think she is a great role model to other women!
