Regal+Lager’s Gr8x Line: Diaper Bags & Swaddling Wraps
Baby Traveller Deluxe |
The Gr8x (pronounced Great Expectations) Baby Traveller Deluxe is a large all-in-one diaper bag and changing mat is going to make your life easier. No more digging in your diaper bag to scoop out your changing pad, diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream. This bag holds it all in one secure, easily reachable place AND it unfolds into an extra long change mat folds open and a pocket on each side of the mat folds out. Change baby anywhere, without placing your baby on a cold floor or dirty changing table (when there actually is one). You can fit several diapers on each side, a travel wipes case, a parent pocket, a removable washable, waterproof changing pad insert, and a wet bag type pocket inside for soiled clothes.
On the outside of the Baby Traveller Deluxe, the drawstring bungee cord will let you attach a wrap or a blanket. I have been using it to store Ben’s hat and windbreaker. It can go in the washing machine (but not the dryer!). There are many ways to use this bag.
- You can use the attachable straps to make the Baby Traveller Deluxe a stroller bag.
- Backpack straps are tucked inside the huge back pocket -they can be attached to the clips on the back botton to make it a backpack.
- There is also an attachable shoulder strap to make it a shoulder bag.
- There is a briefcase handle, great for carrying it into a restroom.
I tested out in my downtown area the other day. I Ioved the way it clipped to my stroller. The huge back pocket fit my must have items (compact, lipstick, keys, wallet and sunglasses). The big zippered pocket right inside, fit my anti-bacterial foaming hand wash and some other items. I took Ben to our local Barnes and Noble (great to know they always have a place to change your baby). The Baby Traveller Deluxe fit on the changing table, even though it was a little big. But I had to take all of my personal stuff out of the back pocket (Ben wouldn’t have been comfortable lying on my keys or compact). I just threw all of that stuff into my stroller basket and then put it back after Ben was changed. A solution might be a little zippered pouch that can hold all your essentials (that could attach to the Baby Traveller Deluxe or fit in that back pocket). The pockets with my diapers and wipes on the left side were so accessible, but the pocket on the right side was in the way (I took my wipes case out and folded it underneath the changing pad). Now, there isn’t a lot of room in the bag for harder items, like toys or food (but you can always take a mini-cooler and stick a bib or utensils in that) or stash the toys in the stroller basket or another bag.
But it does come with the detachable insulated Bottle Traveller. I am crazy about this too- very quickly snaps to your stroller handle, frame, or the Baby Traveller Deluxe. You can buy it separately (but it comes with the Baby Traveller Deluxe and the Satchel Deluxe). Since we are moving out of the bottle phase, I was happy that it perfectly fit Ben’s Playtex Insulator Sport Straw Cup. And it will keep it cool in these hot summer days.
Their boutique line of Gr8x is a little fancier (but just as functional) to make mom feel stylish. The Baby Traveller also comes boutique styles. I checked out the Holdall in Vespa Stripe. This striking HUGE (and I mean huge) large black and white striped bag with red accents is so cute and functional. It had so many pockets (that I stopped counting) and could be used for twins, siblings or as an overnight/travel bag. The changing pad fits in a waterproof plastic pouch, that could double as a wet bag. Besides the essentials for Ben and my personal stuff, I fit changes of clothes, sippy cups, snacks, books and loads of toys. I couldn’t believe the room in this bag – it really does hold all! It worked perfectly for our weekend at the grandparents!
I also checked out a couple of the change wallets. One from the Deluxe line, the Change Wallet Deluxe in the leaf green and the Change Wallet Boutique – leaf green stripe on black. Small and compact (and folds out to a decent size), this will fit in a diaper bag or you could attach. I loved the cushiness. Both sides fold out, but you are only going to be able to keep a couple diapers on one side and a soft travel package of wipes on the other. You are going to have to fold one side underneath (if you are using a changing station (unless you can have it up against the wall). It could have used a few exterior pockets or been a tiny bit bigger to fit some more diapers and wipes in it! I liked that it snapped to my stroller’s handle bar and that it easily fit into my diaper bag. But since it is so thin, it will fit in your current diaper bag.
Gr8x also has great stretch swaddling wraps. Made of 97% cotton and 3% lycra, these swaddling wraps are awesome! I checked out the blanket in the leaf green color. Since I am a big swaddling fan, I was delighted with the large size and softness of the fabric. This also makes a super lightweight blanket for your stroller (or to use on top of your stroller or carseat as extra shade if baby is sleeping).
