"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

    Awww congrats to them!!

  3. tink1217 Says:

  4. yogadaisy Says:

Congratulations to Sarah and family! I’m a huge fan of hers. Can’t wait to her the new baby girls name!

  5. stella Says:

Tink 1217! Ashwin is the name of her husband not her new daughter! ;-)

  6. Alx Says:

Awww…that’s a beautiful thing to know! They’re a wonderful couple, congrats to them!

  7. Elaine Says:

Hi………this name for me is beatfull…
    Raymi………….
In this language indigena this significated is…………little………..sweet little.

    Kisses

  8. Heather Says:

Taja Summer is cute! But is Taja pronounced like Taj-ah, Ta-ha, or Ty-ah?

  9. Lilybett Says:

    Tah-jar? Tah-yar? Tay-ya?
It looks sweet, but I think there’s the opportunity for so many mispronounciations.

Does it mean anything in another language or is it a made-up name?

  10. Posh_Fan Says:

Taja? The word for crown is “Taj”…..never heard of Taja before.

But Sushil means well mannered in Hindi.

They must really love India the country :p

Sarah’s note: That’s what the baby name sites say it means! I guess they just added an ‘a’ on the end.

Ashwin is Canadian, but given his ethnic roots I think it’s nice that they’re honoring his heritage with both daughter’s names.

  11. Andrea Says:

I could do without Summer as a middle name but Taja is really cute!

  12. Becky's Daughter Says:

Taja is a pretty name. If it went with my and hubby’s last name, I would consider it for my own future daughter.

  13. indian Says:

never heard of the name taja and i am an indian from india. taja (pronounced ta-jaa) in hindi means ‘fresh’. but it is never used as a name. as a celebrity you can get away with creative uses of a word. so i guess her name means fresh summer ?

  14. Christelle Says:

Her name is Taa-Jah and she was born on June 22nd…

  15. Tessa Says:

I am still confused about the spelling and the pronunciation. None of the info given is clear to me. Is it pronounced Tay-jah? or Tah-Jah? or what?

Sarah’s note: Taa-Jah is what the publicist has released as the spelling of the name. It’s said with 2 long ‘a’ sounds, no ‘y’ sounds. If you know how to pronounce ‘Taj Mahal’, it’s the same, just with an ‘a’ on the end.

  16. FC Says:

I love the baby’s name. :) And congrats to Sarah and Ashwin! :)

  17. Althea Says:

I love the name, but I’m not too fond of the spelling.

Anyway, congrats to the happy family!

    =]

  18. boodas_mommy Says:

Good thing Sarah and Ashwin (as well as most other celebs) don’t care whether we like what they name their children. Congrats on the birth of a healthy baby girl, whether her name is spelled Taaja/Taa-Jah/Taja or Tootsie. No matter what her name is, you must admit it beats “Apple”(Paltrow) Martin by a mile. Not to mention Nick Cage who named his son after Superman’s ‘birth’ name,(sorry I’m not a big fan so I don’t know the planet Superman was from originally ). It seems that unusual (no, bizarre is more like it) celeb baby names has become the norm and the more bizarre the better. So Sarah’s baby has a name that is less freaky than most. Whomever it was that said they could do without Summer as a middle name? ROTFL… that name is downright boring in comparison.
Congrats to the lovely chanteuse and her family on their new addition, no matter what the name ends up to be.

  19. Mary-Helen Says:

    Congrats to Sarah and Ashwin!

  20. Jacey Says:

Sarah and Ashwin named their new daughter Taja Summer Sood.
