Isla Fisher talks more about her pregnancy and explains silence
Actress Isla Fisher, 31, who broke her silence on her pregnancy earlier this week, shared with Movies.com why she remained mum even when she had an obvious belly. She explains,
In the beginning I dodged the rumors… I was trying not to be rude, but there’s a time before you’re sure everything is all right with no complications that you just don’t want to discuss it.
She also jokes that fiancé Sacha Baron Cohen, 35, might not be the father,
I’m doing DNA tests with the cast of [new film] Hot Rod and the cast of Wedding Crashers, and hopefully I’ll find out for sure.
Isla is believed to be due this fall.

Those two are the total pot-and-lid combo. What a cute couple! I’m so happy for them.

I think that Isla and every other ‘possibly pregnant’ celeb has the right to wait until they are ready to confirm the news. As Isla says you want to make sure everything is right. I didn’t announce mine to family/friends/work until 5 1/2 months once we knew all was well. My sister announced hers at 6 weeks. It is whatever the parents are comfortable with I guess. I can only imagine how irratating it must be for celebs to have everyone speculating all the time (Jennifer Garner case in point).

Belle – I absolutely agree! I can’t blame them for wanting to wait, especially to wait until getting out of the first trimester. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to have the whole world know if you had a miscarriage. Thats why it always really bugs me when I see rumors that an actress is pregnant (that and if they AREN’T pregnant and are possibly having issues getting pregnant) they should be able to annouce it when they are good and ready!
