American Idol’s Phil Stacey: I just miss my family

American Idol finalist Phil Stacey famously missed the birth of hissecond daughter McKayla, now 7 months, to audition for the show, andthese days, he’s missing some of his daughter’s other milestones while on the American Idol summer tour.

McKayla started crawling while I was here. And when I saw her inFlorida, my wife [Kendra] started feeding her solid food and I was like, ‘Whatare you doing?’ She was like, ‘It’s time, honey. We can do that now.’

Phil, 29, says it’s difficult to be away from his family – which alsoincludes daughter Chloe, 3 – for so long. The three have joined him fora few stops, but otherwise keep in touch through the phone because "there’s really not a whole lot I can do." However, thesinger is hoping to get an upgrade in the technology department soon.

I’m about to buy them an Apple computer so we can do iChat and actuallysee each other when we’re not together. But hopefully they’ll be withme for most of it from here on out.
