Does anyone else find it ironic that they have a snugride on a $700+ stroller frame with a $900+ diaper bag hanging off it? Not that sungrides are bad or anything. I just find it funny.

Excuse me? A $950 diaper bag? All together now, say it with me …Diaper Bag!
July 30th, 2007 at 8:43 am
You have got to be kidding!?! A diaper bag that costs almost a thousand dollars?!!? Holy cow, I guess when you’re rich you can justify those splurges…wow, that just caught me off guard!

ok is that like a net to keep bugs off the baby? at first glance i thought it was one of the glad flex trash bags, lol.

I love the gucci bag. I also like the Louis Vuitton diaper bag. As long as one can afford it, and its not jeopardizing other more important expenses (i.e. food, mortgage, car, even charitable donations), then I say, go for it.

S I was thinking the same thing you were. A rather inexpensive carseat, then over the top stroller frame and diaper bag! I don’t care how rich you are, $1000 for a diaper bag is a too much!
July 30th, 2007 at 12:30 pm
I, too, was shocked by the $950 diaper bag and chuckled when I saw the baby was in a $120 Snugride car seat. Wouldn’t you splurge more on the item that would keep your child alive in a car accident and less on a bag which holds diapers and clean clothes?
Although, if I had the extra cash I would probably by a designer diaper bag AND an expensive car seat!

Yes, I too noticed the expensive diaper bag–$935 gimme a break. LOL Must be nice to just throw around a near $1000 on a diaper bag. Just think what they could do with that money to help the more unfortunate! Just ashame!!

People buy $900 Gucci diaper bags for the same reasons that they buy $1000 Gucci handbags, because they like them and because they can. There is nothing special about these diaper bags (or purses for that matter) here in NYC. You see them everywhere. Again, people buy what they like and what works for them. I happen to have a Louis Vuitton one and love it to death.

I agree Madison. I think the gucci diaper bag is so pretty, and if you have the money why not enjoy it. Of course if your an average mom of say 3 kids and your hubby is a cop, I would think someone is crazy to spend that amount of money, because that’s a lot of money for your average family. But Donald JR is a trump, that is nothing for him to spend on daughter. Rich people spend and have a totally different lifestyle than your normal people, and as long as it’s their money and there not bothering anyone, I don’t care how much they spend on their child. I love and buy LV and Gucci stuff in general, so if I was even richer I can’t lie, I would buy even more.

I think that even if I were a millionaire I would not spend that much money on a diaper bag, or on any bag for that matter. The question is not: Can I afford it? It’s: it that a fair price?
But of course it’s their money and their principles, so they can do what they like.
July 30th, 2007 at 3:53 pm
Oh please, not the “use the money to help the unfortunate” spiel. Here’s an idea: why don’t the people complaining about how wealthy people who can actually afford luxury items spend their money donate as much money as they want to the unfortunate and not worry about other peoples’ finances.

Maybe the diaper bag was a gift. Im sure ‘the donald” would never buy his daughter-in-law a 25$ baby bag from babies R us!

What I find ironic is how everyone is gasping over a $935 baby diaper bag but staunchly defended Brynn Cameron’s $30,000 child support payment with comments like, “he’s rich, he can afford it and the baby should have the same lifestyle as Matt”. Why the double standard? The Trumps are rich and they can afford it as well. I, too, get tired of the “give to the less fortunate” card. How do you know they don’t? Why can they not splurge on their baby? I love the bag and though I’m not a celebrity I would definitely buy it if I can afford it someday.

1. Child support is very very different from a diaper bag, the two don’t even fit in the same catergory together.
2. I never said there was anything wrong with them having an expensive diaper bag. If they want it then that’s their choice. I just said that I thought it was funny when placed next to a carseat that’s on the cheaper end of the spectrum they have. It reminded me of, I think it was Matt Damon, who had a rear-adjusting winnie the pooh snugride on a bugaboo frame.

S,
My comment was not aimed at you. It was aimed at the people who though it ridiculous to buy a $935 bag. Yes it is funny that the bag is more expensive than the stroller but the bag is not really for the baby, I think it’s more for her, just another fashionable bag.
I understand that child support payments are different. You obviously missed the principle of my comparison.

Graco snugride is one of the safest seats out there, and from my experience with nieces and smaller cousins, is much easier to use then the Peg car seat. They are a cute family, but personally I wouldn’t spend that much money on a diaper bag

we exchanged our peg carseat for the snugride. the bugaboo carseat adapters for the snugride are much easier to use than the peg adapters.

she’ll use the stroller longer than the carseat, anyway.
and the best carseat is the one that fits the child and the car and can and will be used correctly every time.
and that mesh is to keep off the bugs and possibly protect baby from the sun (many mesh covers now are made from solarveil and provide spf 50 or 70 protection)
Also, the bugaboo frame is compatible only with the peg perego and graco infant seats… if the peg perego didn’t fit their car well and the graco did, I’d go with it, too.

Can anyone tell me how to pronounce their little girl’s name? Is it Kay or Ki?
Sarah’s note: Ky.
