Myleene Klass talks about food aversions and ever-changing due dates
In a new interview Myleene Klass says that she’s not totally sure when her baby girl is arriving, just that she will be arriving soon. According to the British singer and tv-presenter, her daughter "has really flummoxed the doctors and nurses" with a roving due date of anywhere between late-August and early-September.
We have one scan, and the readings tell us one thing, we have another and it tells us something else. Basically, the math is not equating and everyone has a different date for the arrival. But I am not going to get wound up about it. The baby will come when it comes.
Myleene has worked virtually non-stop since announcing her pregnancy, the first for she and fiance Graham Quinn, and says that she is aware some might take issue with her schedule. Myleene said that her time spent as a dancer taught her how to listen to her body and recognize the signs of fatigue, none of which she is currently experiencing.
I know when to stop – and I will do. I certainly can’t go near coffee, at the moment, to revitalize me as the smell of it makes me sick. But I reckon as long as I can factor in some sleep into my schedule, I’ll be all right.

Work isn’t the only thing Myleene has had in abundance as of late; Like anyone who has ever been pregnant knows, unsolicited advice about babies and motherhood is never in short supply.
I mean this in the nicest possible way but everyone has something to say on the subject, don’t they? In my case, everybody from my mum and my mother-in-law to people who have far more recently become mums … they’ve all had their say.
Among the advice-givers is Myleene’s ex-Hear’Say bandmate Suzanne Shaw, herself mom to 2-year-old Corey, Myleene’s godson who has already been more than helpful in getting Myleene ready for her new role of mommy.
I changed Corey’s first nappy which was a truly memorable experience. Babies are so squirmy I was sure I had done it wrong. But I’d got it right which hopefully bodes well for when I’m changing nappies on my own baby.

With regards to due dates, she’s taking the most sensible approach – the baby will come when it’s ready. A due date is only an approximation anyway, and I don’t understand why people get so hung up on a date which has no real significance in the scheme of things. My midwife refuses to give a due “date”, she prefers to give a window of time when the baby may be born. Each woman’s body is different and each baby is different – our bodies and unborn children don’t read the memo from the calculator!
Any time from 38 weeks until 42 weeks is considered “due” … before that is considered early and after that is considered post dates – and just because the magical 42 week date passes doesn’t mean the placenta automatically shuts down and the baby must be born straight away. As long as the mother and baby are being monitored the baby doesn’t have to be induced if everything is fine. A close friend of mine went to 44 weeks (she didn’t want to be induced) and everything was wonderful.
Good for Myleene for being sensible.

I agree-The doctors kept changing my due dates around for my son so I stopped keeping track.
I don’t see why doctors these days are so induction and c-section happy anyway, they generally cause more problems than they are worth!
