Comic project unveiled by Nicolas Cage and son Weston at expo

Tags: Dads, News

Nicolas Cage and his 16-year-old son Weston chose the Comic-Con pop culture expo to unveil their new comic book project Voodoo Child yesterday.  Both father and son are lifelong comic enthusiasts, with Nicolas acting as a collector and Weston an artist.  The six-book series involves a bi-racial main character named Gabriel, created by Weston, who battles against racism in New Orleans in the wake of hurricane Katrina.

Nicolas would like to see the comic transformed into a movie, and Weston says he would like to play a villain in the film if one is eventually made.  Says Nicolas:

This is a highlight in my life…that I got to create something with my son.

Weston’s mom is Nicolas’ ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton.

Good on this pair. I admire Nic Cage for doing this with his son. It’s almost like a rite-of-passage before Weston becomes an adult and goes off into the world on his own.

  2. Cassandra Says:

That is great, Nic doing something that him and Weston can enjoy.
