Dave Matthews on homebirth beverage of choice
Rocker Dave Matthews, 40, who welcomed August Oliver on June 19th — ‘I call him Louie‘ — knows that some may view his and wife Ashley’s decision to have their son at home as unconventional, but he feels homebirth comes with its own set of benefits. Specifically, Dave laughs that he had the chance to calm his nerves with a brewski.
We had him at home, which was nice, because I knew where the beer was.
Dave and Ashley also have fraternal twin girls Grace Anne and Stella Busina,5 1/2.

I had to laugh – that was a similar comment to something my husband said after our first (a hospital birth). He said something to the effect of “Well, if we have a homebirth next time, I can go have a beer if I want one.” Our homebirth was definitely less stressful than the hospital birth and no beer was needed, haha.

Homebirths are wonderful. Mom AND Dad get to eat and drink whatever they want.

I laughed at this, because it reminded me of my homebirth. I had a rootbeer float. Oh, it was so good. Way better than ice chips.
