Michael Douglas: Actor, pancake chef
Maybe Michael Douglas‘ next gig should be at IHOP. In recent years, theactor has spent more time in the kitchen than in front of the camera -at least in his nearly 7-year-old son Dylan’s eyes, CatherineZeta-Jones says.
Dylan was doing Occupations Day at school. When he got home, he askedMichael and me about our careers,so we said, ‘Mommy and daddy make movies.’ But, this was the time whenI went back to work and Michael took time off to be a stay-at-home dad.Dylan said, ‘Wait a minute: Mama makes movies. Daddy, you just makepancakes!’ Michael was like, ‘After 40 years in the business and twoOscars, it comes down to my son thinking that all I do is makepancakes!’
Dylan and his sister Carys, 4, give their dad a hand sometimes.
Michael makes breakfast every Sunday — that’s his thing. To help him,Dylan and Carys break the eggs and beat them, while mama sits down andwatches it all happen — with my cup of tea.

It’s very funny how they call Job Day “Occupations Day” in Bermuda. You can tell it was a British colony – way more formal/proper than the US. LOL.

First of all, I love CBB. So, in light of that, I have never posted a comment to the many recent little blips about the Douglas/Zeta-Jones family. I do admire the family and the way they spend so much time together. However, I have to say that I am still really, really bothered by the photos of Catherine smoking while heavily pregnant with Carys. I guess I just find it a bit hard to swallow her parenting advice knowing that she (being intelligent and wealthy) would so carelessly endanger her childs’ health.

Did Cat ZJ ever comment? Y was she smoking ?
I remember there was angry press when Gwyn P was drinking red wine while pregnant until it was quelled by drs who said it is ok/good 4 the baby/mom.

I have never heard of or seen pictures of her smoking peroid.Also she did the chicago I think while maybe a few weeks pregnant but I think tht was for her character,Unles you saw her in person smoking,I’m not going to believe that.

But you never hear of Jackie Kennedy Onassis being called a bad mother and she was a chains smoker all thru all 4 pregnancies! Two boys she lost at birth.

I’ve seen the pictures of her smoking, she was on vacation, sunbathing topless and puffing on a cigarette while heavily pregnant (like 7 months or more). They were published in some foreign magazine but I think CZJ’s lawyers went after the magazine, although the pic is still online somewhere.
Even though the picture was shocking and a bit disappointing, I’m not going to judge her on one bad act – we all make mistakes and goodness knows we’ve all done things to endanger ourselves and others, even if we don’t mean it or regret it. She seems like a great mum, and I am still a big fan. I can’t wait to watch No Reservations!

There actually is a picture of her smoking while pregnant in her thread in the fashion spot. but smoking is an addiction and each to their own i know people who smoked during pregnancy im not saying its right but people do worse, i am a smoker and managed to stop during pregnancy but i am ashamed to admit that towards the end i was pulling my hair out! i confided in my midwife who told me that smoking is by no means good for a baby but also the stress and craving i was having for a smoke wasnt good for my baby either!

Yes, there are very clear pictures of her smoking. I believe CZT and husband sued the paparazzi over the pics. CZT is on the balcony/deck of a home or hotel – she is topless (which is always covered with that black bar thingy on the pics)inhaling away on a cigarette. If I remember correctly, the only comments they made were how their privacy was invaded (which is was, I agree with that). But still . . .

I love this family. I think it is adorable how Dylan looks like Catherine and Carys is the spitting image of her father – they got one child each!

Not only that-her youngest son died of a respiratory infection two days after being born three months prematurely, and John, Jr. was forced to be incubated for almost two weeks after his birth due to his premature birth and weak immune system. I think smoking is disgusting anyway, not to mention a personal choice, so I don’t have any sympathy for women who become pregnant and keep smoking. I don’t blame women who have a horrible time quitting and want to smoke, as Rhian mentioned, because it is an addiction that is extremely difficult to quit. But on the same note, although it killed her, Rhian ultimately sucked up her own discomfort for the sake of her baby, which shows great respect and maturity imo. Good for you!
