Secure2Me: A genius stroller blanket
We travel to the North of Spain every summer where theweather is a little weird – warm during the day and then a little chilly atnight. I have a Maclaren Volo and it’san annoying stroller in the sense that it doesn’t recline so I’ve always had towrap blankets around Catie in such a way that they would always be half way onand half way off. If I didn’t do this I wouldultimately end up pulling blankets up off the floor every few blocks.
A few days before we left this year I received a blanketcalled Secure2Me. The gimmick is that it has clips on it that make it stayin place but when I first saw it I thought “this is nice but it’ll never workon the Volo.” However I checked thepress materials and it said that it would work on most strollers so I decidedto try it out. Oh my god, what a genius idea!
The blanket is shaped so that it fits right under the kid’sfeet for full coverage, but if you have a kid like mine who insists on havingher feet free (yes, it is a daily battle), you can manage to do that too. Basicallyyou position the clips to whichever way you want the blanket to fit on yourstroller. You can also clip it up high(if your child is sleeping) and down low if you are just strolling and saidchild insists that she MUST keep her arms out (can you see where I am goingwith this?).
Best of all, this blanket NEVER drags on the floor. I didn’t have to wash it once all summer (butfear not – I did in fact wash it because I’m not disgusting) and I was the envyof dozens of Spanish mothers who stopped to ask me who made it for me because surelysuch a genius product had to be made by a mother somewhere. (In fact, the facebehind Secure2Me, Amy Long, is most definitely a mother).
The entire Secure2Me collection is beautiful but I highlyrecommend the style we own, the pink bon bon, which is incredibly plush andinviting.
Ranging in price from $29 to $42, these blankets are a greatinvestment because they will last your child from infancy through the toddleryears. I tried it out on both my Voloand my Inglesina Liberty, as well as my girlfriend’s Bugaboo and it fit perfecton all three strollers.
This is one gift that I will be giving at every shower I attendand I highly suggest you do too. Check outthe selection at www.secure2me.com.

I gave this blanket to my sister in law when she was expecting her second child and she adored it. The quality is amazing. People come up to her all the time to ask her where she got it. She told me it was a godsend because she’d been dreading having to do all that blanket wrangling another time around! It’s a phenomenal shower gift.
