Michelle Pfeiffer doesn’t want her kids to get “beat up” in show business
Echoing the sentiments of many fellow celebrityparents, Michelle Pfeiffer is discouraging her and David E. Kelley’s kids, Claudia Rose,14, and John Henry, 13, from joining the family business. The Starduststar, 49, says she wants to protect them from the hardships and brutalrejections show business can bring.
My son is interested in music. I’m not encouraging it because a careerin entertainment is not the easiest profession. Yes, it can beincredibly rewarding. It has been generous to me, and I feel blessed. But, it’s not always kind to people. You don’t want your kids to getbeat up in life.

I find that absolutely ridiculous. When I have kids, I wouldn’t make them live in a bubble. I would want my kids to get beat up in life so they can learn from it. I would want them to learn how to use their hardships to strengthen them and make them better people. If they don’t get beat up in life, how they empathsize with those that do?

I can undertsand michelle not wanting to get into the entertainment business. For one she knows what its like. It is tough out there especially in hollywood one minute your the “IN” and the nest minute no one can remember your last name. Just look at celebs now a days in hollywood gossip mags, rehab ,drugs, jail. As a mother show business would be one of the last things I want my kids in.

I think she has a point. I mean, she probably went through a lot to become an actress, and doesnt want her kids to go through the same thing. I mean, my parents want me to learn from their mistakes and want the best for me, so I think its the same reasoning. I think her son will be a lawyer or something

I think each person should raise their own child as they see fit without criticism. Do you want someone tell you how to raise your children? I think she has made up her mind and don’t need our help with her children.
