Regis Philbin to be grandfather for second time
Regis Philbin announced on Regis & Kelly that his daughter, Jennifer, is expecting her first child in February. Jennifer, 33, a writer who has worked on The O.C., has been married to Michael Schur, a writer for The Office, for nearly two years.
Regis, who is already grandfather to McIntire, 17, from son, Daniel, couldn’t hide his excitement when talking.
We’re very happy and proud. It will be interesting to see how they name the baby. So far everybody has avoided the name Regis.
Regis and his wife, Joy, also have another daughter, Joanna. He has two children, Amy and Daniel, from his marriage to Catherine Faylen.

I’m a bit confused, does Regis have 4 kids? I always thought he just had the two with Joy??!!

I have never heard Regis talk about having two other children. Does he mention them?

I have never heard him talk about his 2 older children. I once heard he had a son that was special, but I didn’t even know he had another daughter. Its kind of a shame he never mentions them. He always talks about JJ, she is his pride and joy, and the baby of the family I guess. She must be a daddy’s girl.

Danny is wheelchair bound (not sure why) and used to work at the Pentagon (he was working there at the time of the terrorist attacks). I do not know anything about Amy though.

Yes, I just read about his son, but I do think it is sad that he seems to really only talk about his children with Joy. His son and daughter from his previous marriage never get mentioned (Danny did during 9/11) also like me who has a family member in a wheelchair, Regis could do a lot of educating to us Americans by being more open!

Danny was born with missing vertebrae and leg muscles and grew up at Angel View Crippled Children’s Foundation in California. He now holds a “high-level” position at the Pentagon.

His older children were adults when Regis got the show. Maybe they didn’t want to be talked about!!! Especially the son in the wheelchair. Maybe he doesn’t want to be a symbol for other wheelchair bound people. Maybe he prefers to be throught of as smart and not just a cripple. Not everybody wants to be a victim!!

I really don’t agree with using the word ‘cripple’ or to think that someone could think he was a cripple. There are many people who can’t walk for a variety of reasons
cancer
accidents
birth trauma
they are certainly not crippled.

I never heard him refer to his other kids either and always hear him talk about his two daughters with Joy. But I remember hearing he did have other kids. Maybe he doesn’t have a great relationship with them and prefers not to talk about them or maybe they have asked him not to.
I wonder how Reg will truly be as a grandpop bc he seems to hate when Kelly goes on about her little one’s. Like if she talks about diapers, nursing, or even birth he shutters at the thoughts. But then again he is a man

Regis hasn’t seen his oldest daughter amy since around 1991. Apparently she feels that when regis married joy and had 2 daughters, she wasn’t around for amy and danny very much. I heard amy has 3 kids, but regis hasn’t seem them or her in many years. I find that sad.

I HEARD THAT REGIS HAS 2 BOYS FROM MARRIAGE
NO.1. ONE BOY CAN’T WALK,THE OTHER SON WORKS OR WORKED BEHIND THE SCENES ON REGIS SHOW,ALSO OTHER PROGRAMS ON ABC.
I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY HE NEVER MENTIONED THEM.
THE TWO GIRLS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FROM HIM AND JOY.

Right after Regis’ son was born handicapped, he divorced his wife, Kay, and got himself a young, trophy wife for whom two homes aren’t good enough that she keeps pestering him for another one in sunny South California or Florida.

Regis Philbin’s first grandson, “McIntire,” is from his oldest daughter, “Amy.” I have not sired any children, nor have I received any memos to such effect. I have two dogs and five cats. All of them speak English very well. One cat can pick a lock.
