Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise out in Paris on Thursday afternoon
After Katie Holmes, 28, twisted her ankle, falling and cutting her knee while out Thursday morning, she and Suri Cruise, 16 months, returned to their hotel for a clean-up and change of clothes before heading back out. On the way home, Suri enjoyed an afternoon nap.

TMZ has a video of Katie and Suri in the store. In the video, Suri throws a mini tantrum when Katie won’t let her play with a pen. Mama Cruise caves in when the tears start flowing, though.
When do you give in to tantrums? I try not to unless we are in public place where Anya’s tantrum will not be tolerated.

Oh my! I just posted in the other Katie & Suri post about changing her shoes in the day, and now read this one about Katie tripping. Both shoes were quite high heeled. I gotta say high heels are not made for cobblestone walking in Paris! Glad to see Katie is okay, and maybe learned a lesson or two about those teeter-totters she always wears.

Sarah, I’m confused is it Suri or Katie that fell because splash news has a video and the caption says “Katie had to make a stop at her hotel to heal Suri’s knee (her knee is bleeding because she fell over earlier in the day) after they went at Maje’s in the Marais.”
Sarah’s note: Katie fell — her knee was bleeding. Suri maybe got hurt also, but the pics I saw were of Katie’s knee.

Katie looks sad if you look deep in her eyes she is not happy Suri is probably the only thing that is keeping her sane. I know everyone likes Tom but I believe he is a control freak. anyway she doesn’t look happy at all.

Holmes is the epitom of ridicule. media make fun of her tilts! When she is with Cruise, she sports 10 inches heels!
She is irresponsible to wear those shoes with Suri! she indeed can hurt her; she has to slouch to grab her daughter’s hand!!!
I hope she suffered, it will be a good lesson for her ego. She doesn’t care about her husband and/or daughter, she use them for popularity , money and strotting with luxuious trends. Dare to contradict me, I think like Colbert! he’s right she’s a goldigger and manipulative.

Everytime I see Katie I am perplexed as to how on earth she can carry a heavy toddler in 4 or 5 inch heels. One photo in particular I remember, Katie was in a swimsuit walking up and down a huge number of steep steps carrying Suri. Frankly, I thought is was VERY VERY dangerous. I would have taken the heels off if carrying my child down steps like that fpr safety. I am suprised she does not fall more often. Glad they are ok though!! I am always happy to see Celeb Moms in more sensible clothes that “REAL” Mom’s wear that allow them to actually PLAY easily with their children. We rarely see Katie in anything casual and comfortable in public with her daughter. My favorite celeb MOM is definitely Jennifer Garner. I love how she doesn’t take the Hollywood star thing too seriously every single day of her life especially on outings with her daughter Violet. She seems to be a more “normal” and well adjusted celebrity. I think her child will surely benefit from her more down to earth parenting style.

Also, thanks for posting the info on Suri’s sandals. I had seen them in a shop earlier in the summer, but they were sold out when I went back recently. I knew Suri had some red ones and I had done some searches on CBB just last week trying to find out what they were called, but turned up dry. Thanks!

Hm. When Britney tripped and almost fell while carrying her son, she was crucified for it. A bit of a double-standard I guess.
When Katie’s out shopping with the baby, instead of trying to impress everyone with her high-fashion attempts, she should try dressing for the occasion. Walking around the streets in high heels while carrying a toddler…. not a bright idea. Has she ever heard of a stroller?

Hey,
The last poster made an interesting point. Katie and Tom are rarely seen with Suri in a stroller. I had never thought about that before. I have a 5 and 3 year old. I cannot remember very many trips taken without a stroller. Hopefully she will stop wearing the heels everytime she goes out. We shall see. Suri has the most beautiful eyes.

Katie wears heels with Tom ALL the time!!! In fact, Katie’s not the only celebrity I’ve seen wearing heels when holding her kid, so BACK OFF!!

Kathy, I think celebs with high-profile babies (weird term, I know) fear for their babies’ safety, especially when there are swarms of photogs and others around so much. Carrying them (albeit preferably not in stilettos!) seems the safer option.

Cutest baby ever…..Katie is always classy. If she is wearing ordinary clothes she is mocked and when she is stylish she is mocked. Same with celebs who are thin they are insulted and when they are fat the insults come too. My goodness give them a break.

ITA with the posters who have pointed out that when when Britney tripped while holding Sean Preston, everyone was extremely mean to her (including the media)…Yet now a similar thing has happened with Katie, and nobody is batting an eye! Double standard, people!
As for the comments about never having Suri in a stroller…Maybe Tom and Katie prefer to carry her instead of using a stroller. Also, Suri isn’t the only celeb baby who is rarely seen in a stroller.
For example, I have only seen Shiloh Jolie-Pitt in a stroller three times, and I have only seen her sister Zahara in a stroller three times as well. Like Katie and Tom, Brad and Angie are usually seen carrying Z, Shi, and sometimes Pax.
Regarding Katie’s high heels, it is very possible that Katie actually feels more comfortable in high heels than in sneakers. Also, I can’t help but notice that Victoria Beckham wears high heels a lot, and nobody ever says she shouldn’t wear them!

Yes I agree with all the comments about Britney when she almost fall with Sean P., and everybody talked about it, blaming her and saying she was a bad mom, and I’ve just seen the pics (in another web page) of Katie falling with Suri in her arms and was very dangerous for both mom and specially Suri, hopefully they’re ok, but I think people sometimes is unfair ’cause this was exactly the same situation as Britney’s, and nobody said anything about Katie as a mom…
I’m not fan of Britney, neither of Katie, but I think is not good to be unfair…
Anyway I totally agree that wearing high heels and having a toddler in arms is really dangerous, imo.
Suri is gorgeous! she has beautiful eyes, she’s a doll and always looks so happy.

I also cannot understand why Katie is wearing high heels on the cobbled streets of paris with a toddler. At any moment Suri could just run off into the road, katie is bound to fall down trying to run after her. I’m sorry but i agree with the other posters its dangerous. I think Katie is putting vanity over and above her daughters safety. I miss the old Katie holmes (pre-Tom.)

The difference with Britney and Katie was that Katie was only holding Suri. When Britney fell, she was holding Sean P., her cigarettes, cell phone, A GLASS OF WATER. Not to mention, in the pictures, it looks like Katie took the fall, not Suri. When Britney tripped, Sean P. would have fallen onto the ground if that bodyguard hadn’t of caught him. There is a big difference.
Some women just feel more comfortable in heels.. I used to work for someone who was just like that. She wouldn’t be caught dead in anything less than 4 inch heels. I think Katie seems to be a great mommy.

Its not about vanity, most times Katie is going OUT with Suri, she’s not just walking the streets of Paris. Please at least look up the facts before bashing her relentlessly!!
She took her to a museum and dinner, and they went out. The last time they were sightseeing in germany, Katie wore flats. She also wore flats when they were at the Zoo, she has worn flats just as many times as she has worn heels.
And Katie has worn heels with Tom numerous times, so it has nothing to do with her feeling bad.

ITA agree with the comments about wearing heels while carrying a toddler. It’s just stupid. Katie’s more interested in being fashionable than anything else.
I have always admired Jennifer Garner for her unpretentious way of life.
And as for the Brit fall/Katie fall, they BOTH tripped/stumbled, whatever. If Katie had fallen, Suri would have hit the ground as well.

My son loves to throw those mini tantrums when he doesn’t get his way, too! Especially when he knows he can get away with it (like when I am on the phone!). Suri is so beautiful! I love her spirited ways. The only thing I didn’t care about in the video is that it seems that she is not being buckled into a car seat. But, I couldn’t really tell for sure so I won’t make any assumptions!

I was just looking back at the pics of Britney and SP and nowhere do I see a pack of cigarettes! AND, Brit is carrying a drink and SP…thats it! I don’t know how many times I had carried my newborn in one arm and my toddler in the other. katie isn’t a better or worse mother because of slipping and neither was Britney at the time. Losing your balance can happen to anyone. Even if you are barefoot!

She has right to wear heels, but not when walking for hours carrying her child. Why not get a stroller to do that? The reason I believe Katie and Suri are always dressed-to-the-nines and why she always insists on holding her is quite simply for photo-ops. They have a much better chance of ending up in the tabs with mother/daughter interaction shots.
I’ll never forget when she was big pregnant ICE-SKATING in New York. Katie must have superhuman powers of balance to attempt that:)

Let’s not forget that when Britney almost dropped Sean, she was pregnant,wearing way too long pants, and heels.I’m not saying she is a bad mother for tripping, she should have left the heels alone while pregnant and carrying a toddler while holding a glass of water.Anyhow, Katie has become more into fashion with age I guess and she knows she will have her picture taken so she tries to look nice but on cobblestreets, heels and toddlers are not a good mix. But you can trip in your barefeet holding a toddler too. We all have our clumsy moments

Oh my goodness! X17 has video of Suri as she is waking up in Katie’s arms (video titled Katie’s Precious Package). It is the cutest thing I have ever seen! She keeps sticking her tongue out, licks her hand, rubs her face, then looks at Katie and Katie gives her a kiss. Suri is always cute but I thought the sight of that took top prize!

The video of them shopping is adorable. Suri must have gotten angry that Katie took something away from her and Suri banged her head on the floor (just like the baby that I watch does) and started crying!! I looked at that x17 video and if the timing /streaming is correct, it looks like Katie got into the car with an awake Suri on her shoulder and got out of the car with an asleep Suri on her shoulder, I wonder does she use a car seat ?
Suri and Katie are both so sbeautiful, they are a stunning Mom and daughter duo. I think Katie’s life appears to be a little boring and lonely at the moment though.

Car, I was wondering the same thing. Every time I see her get in and out of a car in Europe I never see a car seat. Is it the law over there to have to use them or not???
