Charlotte Church planning a water birth
Welsh singer Charlotte Church, 21, who is now 9 months pregnant with her first child, will be having a water birth, according to her mother, Maria.
Charlotte, who is waiting until the birth to find out the sex of the baby, has chosen a water birth per the advice of her good friend. Maria said recently,
Her friend had a water birth and toldher how great it was, so she’s going for it. They are all the rage at the moment and there are a lot of benefits withthem too.
As for how Charlotte is feeling now that she’s nearing the end of her pregnancy, Maria said,
She can’t sleep and is tired all the time. But she and Gavin [Henson], 25, are bothso excited now and can’t wait to find out if they have a boy or a girl.
This will be the first child for Charlotte and Gavin, who have been dating for two years. Charlotte is due the third week of September.

That’s great for Charlotte. But I find it a little strange that her mother is constantly speaking with the press regarding Charlotte’s relationship, pregnancy and birth. Perhaps she is speaking on behalf of Charlotte and she has some sort of arrangement with her daughter, but there is something very Dina Lohan about it!

It’s great to see a celebrity promoting waterbirth! I’m planning on having a home waterbirth with this baby. Looking forward to hearing Charlotte’s birth announcement!

How can she be NINE months pregnant if she’s not due until the third week of September?

I had an accidental waterbirth with my planned homebirth. I found that laboring in my large garden tub was so great that I just refused to get out and had my baby there. Next time I’ll do it on purpose!

I have seen waterbirth on TV and it does look to be very peaceful for the baby. Less traumatic as opposed to being born under all kinds of bright lights and noise. I just don’t know if I could sit in bathwater with blood all around me and what if you happen to poop while pushing??? I know it does happen quite a bit. I just don’t know if I could do it.

Good for her! I had a home birth but didn’t like laboring in my birthing tub very much. I did spend a lot of time in my regular sized bathtub, though.
