Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix expecting second child; at Jesse James premiere
Although they haven’t announced anything, actors Summer Phoenix, 28, and Casey Affleck, 32, are clearly expecting an addition to their family before the year is out. Casey and Summer, who married last year after being together since 2000, already have a son, Indiana August, 3. The new baby will also be a new niece or nephew for actors Joaquin Phoenix and Ben Affleck, and a new cousin for Violet, 21 months.
The couple were snapped attending The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford premiere in Venice at the 64th Venice Film Festival on September 2nd.

Yeah i think this is one of thse pregnancy watches that isn’t too much of a brain teaser…LOL and Summer looks absolutely adorable…yay for the Afflecks! Congrats to Summer, Casey, and Indiana–can’t wait to see if it’s boy or girl and what they name him/her…and YAY for Violet getting another cousin…hehe I’d love a photo of all the Affleck wee ones…
CONGRATS to the family and yeah I’d say that’s a baby who will be making it’s entrance relatively soon…lol

Sarah’s note: Haha – They are uber-private! If I remember correctly, they never announced their engagement, first pregnancy, or marriage, and I don’t think they did an official announcement for Indiana’s birth either.

If I’m not mistaken, but in the 1980’s when he first started appearing in movies, Joaquin went by Leif. I was a huge River Phoenix fan in my youth, and I do not ever remember hearing him referred to as Joaquin until the late 90’s.

You’re right about Joaquin going by Lief. The siblings in that family are named River, Lief, Summer, Rain, and Liberty.

Summer’s son, Indiana, is named after the “young Indiana Jones” that River played. August is also the month River was born.
Liberty has a child too, his name is Rio, which is Spanish for River and also the family nick name for River Phoenix. Liberty owns a store in Florida which sells eco-freindly products.
I don’t believe Rain has any children, but is in a band Papercranes with her husband. They are based out of Florida.

I’m really happy for Summer and Casey. They are adorable.

Whoops. My bad. Looks like Liberty has two more kids. This is what it says on IMDB…
“Uncle of Liberty Phoenix’s children Rio Everest, Indigo Orion and another boy, and Summer Phoenix’s son Indiana August.”
Also about the name Leaf…
“Was born Joaquin Rafael, but at the age of four he decided that he wanted a more earthy name, like his elder siblings River and Rain, so while he was raking leaves with his father he decided on Leaf. In the early ’90s he took back his birth name.”

Native, Liberty has Indigo, Rio and a girl, NOT another boy. I believe her daughter is named Scarlett Jasmine. And Rain also has a son Jonas Winter.

yes Joaquin’s name change was to ‘Leaf’ not ‘leif’ (which is a relativly common name)
Rain does indeed NOT have any children. Liberty has 2 boys- Rio (named after River) and Indigo, and a daughter – Scarlette.
Indiana was also named after River Phoenix- or rather his character in ‘Indiana Jones and the last crusade’. his middle name – August – is the month of River’s birth.

yep it has been spread around the net, mostly I tought it was true ages ago but since I know now it isnt true its false. Also Rain is born in november not in march, also false. There is a book about the family and the writer knows them.
