Princess Leonor goes to nursery school
Princess Leonor of Spain, 22 months, was photographed today for her first official day of nursery school. Leonor has been attending the El Pardo Royal Guard nursery since this Wednesday to start getting used to the new environment, but the official photoshoot was scheduled for today with her parents Felipe and Letizia. Leonor was wearing the uniform (white shirt and light blue shorts) and sporting a little school bag.
A video can also be seen at ABC.

She has to be the prettiest child that I have ever seen.

Oh look at that face!!! what a little ham! So cute.

She is so cute, and she looks so excited.
September 7th, 2007 at 10:27 am
Do they curl her hair?
September 7th, 2007 at 10:53 am
I LOVE seeing pictures of little Leonor! I definitely think she is one of the most beautiful babies featured on CBB. Her little uniform is too cute.
September 7th, 2007 at 10:55 am
She’s so darn cute!! My favourite picture is the one where the Prince is leaning down to talk to her! Her face is priceless!
September 7th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Oh gosh, what absolute cuteness!
September 7th, 2007 at 11:13 am
Hilary: Of course they don’t – natural curls aren’t *that* rare, you know. Of course, most people lose them growing up – and probably Leonor will, too – if you look carefully, her hair is actually quite thin. As it starts growing and they get the curls cut, her hair will probably get straighter and even darker (both her parents had blond, curly hair when they were little).
Shes awfully cute, neverthless

She is just too cute!
September 7th, 2007 at 11:21 am
She really is a personality!!! Lately she must have discovered that she likes all the attention……
September 7th, 2007 at 11:41 am
She’s adorable!
I’m curious, though, why they would be sending a one year old (almost two) to nursery school. Isn’t that just like daycare? She’s so young!! Maybe it’s a Spain thing..
September 7th, 2007 at 11:43 am
So precious!
And she looks like grandma…
September 7th, 2007 at 11:45 am
She’s very cute. I know it’s not that rare. I’m only mentioning that b/c my sister had naturally curly hair at that age and it never looked that put together.
September 7th, 2007 at 11:48 am
What a pretty little girl!
September 7th, 2007 at 11:50 am
OMG how cute is this little girl??? she is so adorable!
Hilary:
is kind of difficult sometimes to comb her, but I love her curls!
I don’t think they curl her hair, it looks natural, my daughter has the same hair as Leonor

What a precious, beautiful child and gorgeous family!
What kind of preschool has a white shirt for its uniform though? My son would have that white shirt brown in no time! :0)

Lots of children in Europe attend pre-school from around 18 months or 2 years, it is very part time usually 3 hrs or so.
She is simply beautiful. She has a real look of intelligence, beauty and personality a rare combination
September 7th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
She is adorable. I love how she just keeps staring at the photographers in the video.
September 7th, 2007 at 12:29 pm
Look how excited she is! lol, I love her hair
September 7th, 2007 at 12:57 pm
She is darling! I LOVE her hair and her big blue eyes. A simply stunning child!

Precious!
I had curly hair when I was little but mine didn’t stay that way. A lot of kids lose the curls eventually. Baby curls are common bc their hair is so fine.
September 7th, 2007 at 1:18 pm
What a doll! I love her curls!
September 7th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
I agree, 22 months is too young for “school”. I am sure they just have structured play but still.
September 7th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
Oh she’s just precious! I love reading about this family. She looks so much like her grandmother!
September 7th, 2007 at 2:50 pm
I love that first picture. It just looks like she is going to pop out of the photo. And as to whether or not her hair is curled, it could be either. I am inclined to say not curled, because my hair was just like that as a child. But who cares? What a beautiful child. And a very happy ones it seems too!
September 7th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Oh, I don’t know…her hair might keep that curl. Mine sure did. I used to have people stop my mom in the store, raving about my hair. Now that I’m older, it can be a pain whenever else has straight hair…but hey, I can make it look like an up-do in no time flat.

I think it’s so cool that they are sending little Leonor to the nursery school for children of the Royal Guard, that’s the regiment that protects Leonor and her family. I absolutely adore that first photo of her, she looks so upbeat and happy to go to school.
September 7th, 2007 at 5:17 pm
I really doubt they curl her hair. Her father, Felipe, had curls (and was blonde) when he was a baby and Letizia’s sisters have curly hair now still.
September 7th, 2007 at 5:18 pm
i think she looks like her grandma Sofia and a lil of her grandfather Juan CArlos. She’s soooooo cute! i absolutely love seeing pics of her!!
Mary of Denmark started Christian at Day School when he was a year and a half, i think it’s more of a mingle thing, so that they can interact with other children of their age, so they aren’t sheltered.

Leonor is a doll!

Kerry, here in Europe is normal to attend daycare from the age of 3 months and pre-school from the age of 18 months.
Anyway, I find Leonor absolutely adorable. She seems to be a very happy child.
September 7th, 2007 at 8:52 pm
OMG she is amazingly adorable!
September 7th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
What a lovely little lady!! Already she reached another milestone and pretty much before you know it, she’ll be already grown up. I love Leonor’s outfit and her bag though!
September 7th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
Surely, if there were a photo next to the word “princess” in the dictionary, this little doll baby would be there.
September 7th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
My goodness that is a lot of hair for a 22 month old! They must tease it and poof it up!
September 8th, 2007 at 2:15 am
Leonor is such a beautiful little girl. Those blonde curls, blue eyes, and sweet face make her look like a little angel. She looks so excited, and in the video you can faintly hear her tell her parents, “Vamos al cole”…”we’re going to school”…too cute!
September 8th, 2007 at 2:21 am
And I forgot to add that some of the time in nursery school is more than likely structured play, though others probably involve basic learning.
In the article that accompanies the pictures, Felipe mentions that when she gets home, Leonor repeats the new words that she’s learned in school.
It also says that La Infanta will eat lunch with her companions in the dining room, and will afterward be able to rest in the rooms that adjoin the classrooms.

She is absolutely adorable!
Maria:) In what country do you live?I was just wondering because you mentioned that in Europe it`s common to attend daycare from the age of 3 months. Where I live, in Norway, it`s common to stay home with the child until it`s one year old (paid). It`s the same in like Denmark, Sweden and so on.

I live in Spain, and mothers only have four months paid after the baby borns, so they have to look for someone(nursery or grandparents) to look after the baby when they go back to work. Here it is the usual thing.
I adore our little princess.

I live in the USA and lots of women only get 6 weeks off. I know lots of babies in day care at 6 weeks.
This little princess is really really beautiful and so full of life. They are a very lovely family.

Oh my god I just adore little Leo! She’s definitely one of the cutest baby royals! Although I’m mostly interested in the Danish royals, Leonor has really got me involved with the Spanish royals, too. She’s just such a cute and funny girl!
