Billy Bob Thornton rules out marriage, loves being a stay-at-home dad
The five-times divorced Billy Bob Thornton has been dating special effects film technician Connie Angland, 42, for four years and the couple has a daughter, Bella, 3, together, but marriage is not in the cards for them. The 52-year-old actor says he’d much rather focus on being a dad.
I seriously doubt [we'll get married]. I think that I’m just going to raise a child with someone. That seems to be working out pretty well!
Raising Bella has also kept the Mr. Woodcock star busy and perfectly content.
My secret to happiness is staying home. I’m finding agoraphobia really pleasant these days. I have a daughter that keeps me pretty busy.

I don’t know if anyone has said the answer to this before, but what happened to his involvement with Maddox? Did Angie adopt him alone? Did he just relinquish custody?

from what I remember, Angie and BillyBob adopted Maddox together but Angie was the driving force behind the adoption. Apparently the adoption was one of the reasons why they split up – Angie said in an interview that they’d just grown apart, her number one priority had become the baby and his was his music (something like that).
Maybe apart from the very beginning I don’t think BillyBob was ever involved in Maddox’ upbringing and he also doesn’t/didn’t have custody of the boy (to my knowledge he never applied or fought for custody of Maddox).

pink.lioness- Actually, from what I’ve heard, it was only Angelina who adopted Maddox (I once read on People magazine’s website that only Angelina’s name was on the adoption papers. Since I have never known People to be wrong about their info, I trust that information to be correct).
That said, I think that Billy Bob and Angelina had discussed adoption together…But when the time came to actually adopt Maddox, Billy Bob decided, for whatever reason, not to adopt him with Angie.

I wonder too. I heard they both adopted Maddox. It is funny to see him now with a young daughter – but good for him. Marriage obviously doesn’t work for him. He seems to enjoy fatherhood. Does he have any other kids?
