Jason Bateman discusses sister Justine Bateman’s break from acting to be a mom
In a recent interview, actor Jason Bateman, 38, discussed his sister, actress Justine Bateman, 41, and her decision to take a break from acting while raising her children Duke, 5, and Olivia, 3, with husband Mark Fluent.
She’s got a couple of beautiful little kids that are fiveand, I think, two and a half. And — not that she’s done raising them byany stretch, but the heavy lifting is sort of subsiding for a littlewhile, and I think that she’s making a little bit more of a proactiveeffort to get back into the business. And you may see her here soon.
Jason reveals that his sister did not retire from acting, but he thinks that she refocused energy on her family.
But she certainly wasn’tas ambitious as she was before, and just really enjoyed her kids. Andher husband works really very hard, and is a very successful realestate guy. And so she wanted to stay home with them, and do thatthing. And having a ten-month-old myself, I get it.
Jason and his wife, Amanda Anka, have one child, daughter Francesca Nora.

Well, he didn’t say that she hasn’t been acting? He just said that she’s trying to get back into the business and that she’s not as ambitious as she used to be.
