Update: Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson welcome daughter Ruby Megan
Update: In an announcement this morning on her official website, it was revealed that the couple have decided to name their daughter Ruby Megan. Charlotte’s grandmother Maria Cooper told reporters,
She is my first great-grandchild and she is beautiful. Charlotte and Gavin are tired but doing fine.
Originally posted September 21st: Singer Charlotte Church, 21, and her boyfriend, rugby player Gavin Henson, 25, welcomed a daughter at their UK home at 10:35 pm on Thursday evening. The baby girl weighed in at 6 lbs, 12 oz — the same birth weight as Charlotte. A spokesman confirms,
A baby girl was born sometime on Thursday evening. Midwives were present at the home birth.
A friend says,
Charlotte and Gavin are over the moon. She’s everything they wished for. I’m sure Charlotte’s going to be a wonderful mum to her.
The couple announced that they were expecting back in March. They will be releasing the birth details on Charlotte’s website on Monday.

Hah! A few months ago a psychic told her she was having a boy. I totally had the feeling that she’d have a girl. Congratulations and well wishes to them!!!

It is a little bit sad that they had a girl because Charlotte did say that she would prefer a boy rather thana girl due to all her bad experiences.

i love that she had the baby thursday, just because there is an announcment on her website posted friday saying her book it out.

I was actually thinking wondering what name she’d choose and Ava did pop into my head as its pretty and very english/irish/welsh etc pretty iykwim? Like Grace or Elise or Holly or Lily or Jessica. I reckon something traditional and pretty basically.

Congrats to Charlotte and Gavin on their baby girl! According to Charlotte’s official website, an announcement (with more details) is expected to come from the couple on Monday. I’m curious about the name, too. Until then, I hope they’re enjoying this time together as a new family.

Congrats to Charlotte and Gavin!I thought she was carrying a boy too!I reckon they will name their daughter something Welsh.I have quite a few Welsh names picked out for any future child of mine,although my partner struggles to pronounce them as he is English!I think Charlotte and Gavin will be great parents!

Ruby is another really popular name right now that has come back in popularity after being considered an ‘older persons name’. I didn’t pick the name right but I did say it would be traditional and pretty! LOL

Congrats!! I’m surprised that it’s a little girl because I seriously thought for sure that the baby would be a little boy!! Anyway, I really like the name they chose for her-Ruby Megan. Know that Charlotte and Gavin will make great parents and can’t wait to see pics of baby Ruby!!!

Congratulation to Charlotte and Gavin on their new baby. I really think the name is perfect. I absolutely love the name Ruby Megan. It’s a perfect choice and it’s Welsh too. I am from the U.S. but would love to live in Wales it’s gorgeous there. I think that she looks just like a stunning lil pearl just as her name Megan means and well those ruby red lips say it all. Charlotte will be a great mam.
