Martina McBride on balancing motherhood and touring
Country singer Martina McBride, 41, is known for scheduling her concert tours around the lives of her daughters, Delaney Katherine, 12, Emma Justine, 9, and Ava Rose Kathleen, 2, but that doesn’t mean that it is easy. Martina revealed in an interview with Reader’s Digest,
For instance, for Emma’s first-grade pet show, a friend of minevolunteered to let Emma bring her goat, since our miniature schnauzerbarks and bites pant legs. The pet show was on a Friday. We did our gigon Thursday, drove to Nashville, got in about 8:15 a.m.—the pet showwas at 8:30—saw Emma and her goat in all their glory, then got back onthe bus and drove six hours to the next show.
Most of the time, the kids come to meet us wherever we are on Fridays,then we all get back by Monday. It’s just crazy. But we all want ourkids to have childhood experiences similar to ours, so I want them tohave class parties, field days and school plays.
Martina’s husband, John, is a sound engineer.

That is great that she plans around the kids activities so that way they can be a family and be together. Love Martina’s songs and her kids look alot like her. Would love to see more piclutre of her and her kids.

Martina McBride is one amazing person…balancing motherhood w/ a hugely successful tour schedule has got to be extremely hard/exhausting yet she makes it seem easy.. She’s got one of the best if not the best voices in country music today.
