BioME 5: Super cool toddler tees with a conscience

BioME 5 t-shirts are fantastic. The designs are unique and will appeal to your child as well as yourself. The bold graphics, a combination of letters of the alphabet and animals, are really fun. Not only are the graphics super cool, the t-shirts are very soft organic cotton, tagless, sweatshop free, have green packaging (Green Film biodegradable plastic bags) and come in fabulous colors. A little educational bonus, the animal names are printed upside down, so they can be properly read by the wearer. The website, www.biome5.com, is just as much fun as the t-shirts themselves. I recommend visiting it with your child. Rolling over the letters produces the animal graphics and sounds. My son, Finn, loves it and runs over as soon as he hears the first sound. It is also very informative with an abundance of adorable product shots that will give you a good idea of just how cute your child will be in these tees, very clear sizing information and useful links.

The sample we received is the violet octopus. This would not have been my first color choice, but Finn does look really cute in it and he really likes the octopus, so I now love it. The t-shirts are preshrunk, but they do recommend air-drying for longer life. (They can be tumbled dried on low, which is what we did.) Long sleeved versions will be available October 1 and shipping in the U.S. is free, which is always nice. The only slight drawback is the price. It is a bit higher than I will usually pay for something that has a good chance of being destroyed after 5 minutes with Finn (the octopus has however survived 3 whole days of intense wear without incident so far), but this is such a great product that you do get what you pay for- t-shirts that are fun, educational, comfy and environmentally friendly. They are so great that I’m going to order at least one more so that Finn and Grae each have one.
