Rumor: Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony expecting?
Update: CBB reader CJ writes, ‘My best friend works with her — she was just ‘officially allowed’ to tell us that Jennifer is pregnant with twins!’ However, Jennifer herself told Us on September 20th:
No, no! We get this every week! I don’t mind when peopletalk about this. I get the interest. I’m not the only[celeb] who gets these rumors.
Update September 25th: Hmm. Perez’s sources say she’s definitely pregnant — and that it’s twins — while a CBB staffer knows ‘a friend of a friend’ who says Marc confirmed the news to his brother today. Time will tell!
Update September 18th: Jennifer’s rep tells Extra that the In Touch report is untrue. Marc’s publicist says,
Everyone calls about this every month with the hopes thatthey’ll hit the mark, but no. No.
Originally posted 2 pm: Tabloid mag In Touch is reporting that singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, 38, and her husband, Marc Anthony,39, may be expecting a baby. Many CBB readers voiced their suspicionsof a baby bump after seeing the photo at left, taken during Jennifer’sshow at N.Y. Fashion Week.
In Touch reports that on September 12th, Jennifer had an ultrasound performed in New York. A source says,
The test calculated that she was about 12 weeks pregnant. She’sdue in the spring. The way the fetus is lying made it difficult for thedoctor to tell if there was more than one baby in there.
Supposedly,Jennifer and Marc went through in vitro fertilization in July and thereis a possibility she could be carrying twins.
However, as always with tabloid rumors — grain of salt, readers! Time will tell.

I actually think she is preggo. I saw these pictures last week and she has what appears to be a baby bump. It is possible she is not but she has always had a nice, flat toned stomach so we shall see. It would be great if she is.

Looking at that photo and that big bump in her dress, I can’t say that she’s just having a bad day and is bloated. I’ll just say that photo is incriminating. If she is pregnant, congrats to her, since it’s been said she’s wanted children of her own for a long time now. If not, then she’s smuggling a heated water pad or something beneath the dress…lol.

Ok so I am the first one to NOT comment on some preg rumor on a star…however in this case I am just so hoping that it’s true…lol I love Jennifer and Marc and I think they would just be amazing parents…so I won’t JUDGE from the pic cuz I hate doing that, but just from my own love of them, I hope it’s true =))

I hope we find out soon. I remember so many rumors in the past that she was pregnant and they turned out to be just that – rumors. Hopefully this time it is true. It would be really hard hearing rumors that you were pregnant when you weren’t and you wanted to be so badly.

I saw these pictures a while back posted some place else and I’m surprised it took so long for them to get here! I think she is pregnant. Not everyone has to make an official announcement, sometimes belly’s just speak for themselves.
I REALLY hope she is though, she’s been wanting to have kids pretty much as far back as I remember about her.

I have underwent IVF and have twins as a result. Just to let you all know, when you have IVF, they know @ the 6 week and 10 week marks whether there are two or not. They confirm via transvaginal ultrasound and the babies are so small, you can always see if there is more than one. At 6 weeks, you can just see that there are 2 implanted fetuses and at 10 weeks, you can see their hearts beating.
The only time you have issue determining if there are 2 or not is if you conceive some other way and don’t have an ultrasound until they are bigger and can cover each other up.

Sometimes the angle of the picture can definitely be misleading, but in this case I seriously doubt she just ate too much. Her tummy is WAY too flat and toned to make that noticeable of a bump, even if she overindulged at an all-you-can-eat buffet!
If she is pregnant, I wish them all the happiness in the world!

I can tell you by experience that if she did IVF they would know way before twelve weeks if she was having twins. You have an ultrasound at 6 weeks to count sacs and listen for heartbeats. You do not wait until after 12 weeks to even have an ultrasound like you do with a regular conception. So in my opinion, the rumor from the “source” is a big fat liar or got his story wrong.
She does look pregnant but IF she did do IVF like the rumor is saying in the first place, this could be extra weight gain or bloating from the IVF drugs.
I sure hope she is. Whether she went through IVF or got pregnant on her own, it would still be nice for this rumor to be true. And hopefully if she did do IVF, she will be upfront about it. I love seeing celebrities come out about their experience with infertility. Makes woman out there realize that it happens to everyone and you can overcome it.

Okay, first, I hope that she is pregnant. I think it will be great to see Jennifer going into a whole new realm with motherhood. But, the sources on other blogs are saying that Jen and Marc had invitro and that when they did the ultrasound, they weren’t sure if there were one or two babies because of the way the baby (I hate when they call unborn babies “fetus”:-( was lying. This is ridiculous! At 12 weeks, you can absolutely tell, and especially with their money, etc. they would have all of the wonderful, state-of-the-art equipment (especially since this was allegedly the result of invitro at an infertility clinic). Am I the only one who thinks that this statement alone seems to discredit the source?!

I hope it it true, but the ivf/’maybe’ twin theory is so wrong and a load of rubbish. The other two posters are correct re IVF, if she did IVF an early scan would determine how many embryo’s actually implanted and how many were viable with heartbeats. IVF pregnancies are monitored very closely in the early months.

she was just featured on ET or one of those shows about having made an appearance at an Emmy party. they showed her and mark arriving, and unless if it’s old footage. she didn’t look pregnant then.
aren’t these magazines notorious for doctoring up their photos to fit the story. i don’t think she is pregnant just based on the source.

If its true of course I am so happy for her and Marc…but am I the only one who thinks that pic looks totally Photoshopped?
Plus I agree with the ladies who commented about their own IVF experiences – it sure seems like she would know by now if there were multiples, and if there weren’t (forgive me if anyone is an exception to this) I can’t imagine her showing *that* much at only 12-13 weeks for a first baby. I am 26 weeks with my first and I hardly show at all!!

Congrats if its true, which I am pretty sure by the looks of that belly it is! I saw that pic awhile ago too. I had a feeling she was preggo!! And, if she is 12 weeks…that is a bigger bump than I would expect, but hey, maybe there is just one. I am sure she will make an announcement soon.

i definitly think she is. i was watching some fashion music award show the other evening and jennifer performed. her first song she was in a jacket and then the second song it was shorts and a loose shirt, it made me think she looked bigger. I HOPE SHE IS CONGRADSSS

I always hate the baby bump rumors. I know that people undergoing certain fertility treatments often gain weight and look very bloated. It can make you look three or four months pregnant. The smaller you are, the worse it can be. How awful would it be to be struggling in such a way and having monthly rumors that you are expecting?

When I saw this pic I thought she looked pregnant. And she’s been wearing clothes lately that are looser or where you don’t really notice her belly. If she isn’t pregnant, I hope she is soon as I think she would be a great mother (I know she has stepkids).
It seems that the really skinny celebs show early so I wouldn’t rule out her being only 12 weeks.

To Tish – I went to that Jonathan Jaxson website. I’m not saying he’s not right about J-Lo, but I don’t think it can be said that he’s never wrong because the first page says that Britney lost custody of her boys temporarily, and that for now K-Fed has full custody….which is not true.

Well, if she IS pregnant (and if so, congrats!), she would’ve had to have conceived in very early July to be 12 wks already. I know she wants to be a mom (even though she is a step-mom I’m sure Marc’s children live with their mothers), so I hope this news is true!

Extra contacted their reps today and they said she isn’t pregnant.

Okay, I am sure I am splitting hairs here, but her rep didn’t say she wasn’t expecting. They said the report wasn’t true. So maybe all that garbage about possibly twins and blah blah blah isn’t true so they were able to get away with saying that.
Or maybe I just want it to be true so I am looking for something that isn’t there, LOL!

I would love for her to be pregnant because I know she very much wants to have a child of her own, but I don’t trust In Touch and their source does not sound credible at all. It’s like they totally made up everything, thinking it sounded like they knew what they were talking about. In fact, I really doubt that she would even be showing, and especially THIS much, if she was pregnant at only 12 weeks. I didn’t even start showing until I was 4 months along, much to my dismay (you want nothing more to get that bump the second you discover you’re pregnant!).
On a bad day, my belly looks like that- thank god I don’t have cameras capturing every bad angle!

I, for one, do not trust In Touch at all! After all, they report practically every single week that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are breaking up….which is, of course, not true!
If I remember correctly, a few months ago In Touch claimed that Angelina Jolie and Katie Holmes were pregnant again. It is quite obvious that neither rumor was true!
I agree with the poster who mentioned that tabloids often like to doctor their photos to fit the story.
Finally, I’d also like to point out that just a few months ago, people were claiming that there was no way Jennifer Garner wasn’t pregnant….and she herself recently not only denied those rumors, but commented that she is sick of all the pregnancy rumors that have been circulating about her.

J.Lo’s one of those women with itty bitty itties with big behind. Her breasts seems large without any support. And for once, I hope this pregnancy is true! Best wishes for Jennifer. =)
p.s. if she is carrying twins then maybe that’s why her tummy seem big for carrying at only 12 weeks.

I really feel for her, if she is trying and is not pregnant, this kind of speculation must be really upsetting for them. If she is undergoing IVF treatment, that could account for the bigger than normal tummy. You can get very bloated during an IVF cycle. I have thought that about Nicole Kidman too, the tummy pics could have been during an IVF treatment cycle. Its devastating dealing with an IVF failure, but doing it under the public glare amid speculation must be heartbreaking.

I really do think she is pregnant. Even though Jen has always had a naturally curvy body, her stomach is flat as a board. That’s more than just a bad angle shot, imo.

Now that Marc’s publicist has also denied it, I DEFINETLY agree with the headline of this post: Denied: Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony NOT Expecting.
I agree that reps and publicists have been known to deny things that are actually true…But the fact that BOTH Jen’s rep and Marc’s publicist are denying this really makes me think that the rumor about her being pregnant is indeed false.
All of that said, I must ask…If somebody insisted that YOU were pregnant but you actually weren’t, how would YOU feel (especially if you had just undergone an unsuccesfully IVF treatment, which is very likely the case with Jen)?

Annoyomus, I don’t hear people saying Nicole Kidman is necessarily too old to have a baby–it’s just that at her age, it becomes a matter of some urgency to pursue all the means to that end, especially since she’s had past fertility issues. When the wife is 40 yrs old, her husband can’t say stuff like “we’re waiting for the right time, maybe next year”, like they’re a 25-or-30 yr old couple, without sounding like he’s in complete denial–I think that’s what drives us a little crazy.

Poor thing. I’m not a JLo fan, but it has got to suck to have pregnancy rumors floating around all the time and the only thing you have to show for it is a bloated belly (probably from fertility drugs) that everybody is talking about. I think the speculation is really mean when it comes to a woman who is obviously desperate to get pregnant and can’t.
I don’t mind the speculation about Jennifer Garner and Angelina Jolie, because both of them already have healthy children – and that make a huge mental difference when dealing with infertility. Guessing about 2nd, 3rd or 4th babies can be fun, but when a person is childless and unable to conceive, it’s really very sad.

Sometimes when older couples say things like “We’re waiting for the right time” or “we’ll probably try to conceive soon”, they’re covering up for the fact that they’ve actually been trying desperately to conceive for quite some time, and it just hasn’t happened for them yet.

I’ve been seeing lots of rumors floating around, all the pics of her lately have been of her in very billowy dresses. I hope she is, she seems like she would make a good mother. I can understand why a celeb would not want to confirm it though until they are well into the pregnancy. We will know for sure in a few weeks, if she IS pregnant she’ll certainly have to show at some point!

I gotta say Jen either has let herself go, or is incredibly bloated from fertility treatments, or is actually pregnant, but denying it due to concerns about early pregnancy complications. I’ve seen the kind of clothes Jen wears, and for her to all of a sudden be wearing floaty and loose-fitting clothes just sets those “is she pregnant” rumours into overdrive.

I hope she is pregnant, but I also feel really bad for her about all the speculation going around.
But PSB, I respectfully disagree with this statement:

Already having a child doesn’t necessarily make a huge mental difference when dealing with infertility. Secondary infertility is different than primary infertility, but most definitely not easier. For one, it’s *always* really sad when a couple wants a child and it isn’t happening for them – yes, even if they already have a child or two or three. Second, it’s sometimes harder because people automatically assume it IS okay to ask and speculate more openly about when you’re going to have baby #2 (or #3 or #4), because they assume everything is fine since you already have a child / children. Personally, when it comes to someone else’s plan for having children, I don’t speculate, don’t ask, and wait for the person to bring it up themselves before I have a conversation about it with them.

There’s no question about it, anybody who is a jlo fan can tell you she looks totally different. Her whole face and features have changed. I was right with salma, halle, and I know I’m right again, jlo is defintley pregnant. Plus she never wears these type clothes. I think that this is not true. I saw the interview that J-Lo gave on Extra during fashion week. Which is where this picture is taken from and her stomach was flat. I am positive that that it has been altered.

From the words JL used in her interview and from the footage of her runway show, I would certainly vote YES. However, I was a bit put off by the news of the upcoming tour. Certainly, many do it, but JL is not in her 20s and IF she’s carrying twins…. just makes me wonder how difficult a tour COULD be. I think we all wanna see the lovely Jennifer Lopez become a mom. Motherhood is not a role she has been impulsive about.

Some people (famous and nonfamous) don’t announce their pregnancy right away because of the concern of miscarriage. By the second trimester a person may feel more secure about their pregnancy going to term. It doesn’t have anything to do with fame.

Wouldn’t be the first time somebody lied in order to buy themselves time to be ready to announce whatever, be it a pregnancy or something else monumental. I think that’s what they’re doing. She’s just been looking different to not be and yes, she’s not one to let herself go. Besides the photos of her in the green dress, she’s been wearing a lot less body-baring/body-hugging outfits and more flowing tops/dresses…and her face is fuller. I’ll go so far as to say she’s already got a “glow” to her.
Again, if neither are hiding anything and her body is playing mind games with everyone, and she’s really and truly not pregnant, then I’m a multi-billionaire…

I think she totally IS! I was looking at some other pics from her this week and I definitely think she is expecting! Good for her!

I think she is pregnant. There are pictures out from an event that she attended just today, and her face is very puffy. She almost resembles Kelly Clarkson.
This couple probably won’t talk about it until they’re ready. Marc and Jennifer took almost a year to even acknowledge that they were married. I think that Jennifer has learned from past experience to keep her personal life just that…personal.

If she isn’t pregnant, she wore an unflattering dress like that on purpose to garner some attention on herself for her new album. I think she is, and she should just say no comment instead of denying it, but that’s just my opinion.

Carol – ARE you serious? They have every right to want to keep a pregnancy private as anyone else! I know for me personally I didn’t want to run around telling every single person I was pregnant until I was out of the first trimester. There is so much that can happen and you don’t want to have to explain to a ton of people. As for celebrities I think I would want to wait as LONG as I possibly could because even though there isn’t as much chance stuff can still happen and can you imagine having to share such a personal thing with so many people? And it seems that she has had fertility problems so I would guess that for her that she is probably even more cautious.
What I don’t understand is people who think they are entitled to such private information.

Diana- ITA! I think the reason why a lot of pregnant celebs and their boyfriends/husbands/partners seem to choose to hide their pregnancies instead of offically denying is simple: If they did that, they would be out-and-out lying.
By choosing not to talk about it, or finding ways to clevely dodge all those “are you pregnant?” questions, they can keep their pregnancies private without actually having to lie about it.
That said, I just saw a photo of Jennifer Lopez in a very recent issue of people magazine, and there she looks pretty flat to me! Therefore, now I’m REALLY believing her rep and Mark’s publicist!
