Usher confirms wife is pregnant with a boy
During his fragrance launch last night at Manhattan restaurant Cipriani, R&B singer Usher confirmed his wife, Tameka Foster, is pregnant with a boy, as we previously posted in July. Usher, 28, explained he’s focusing on having a healthy child.
I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and foremost. I’ve found that it is a step-by-step process. You can wish for a million and one things. But I hope that my son has the same energy I had as a child. Hopefully, he won’t be as bad as me. I hope that he’s just a healthy son.
During his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in August, Usher expressed hope for a boy so he could pass his name on to the child.
If it’s a boy, I’m going to name him Usher. I’m hoping to name him that. I’ve been playing with a few names. I’m the fourth. Usher Raymond IV. I just want to pass the name on. Maybe I’ll change the middle name.
Tameka, reportedly due in December, said she’s feeling “beautiful,” despite some strange food cravings.
I eat ice all day. It’s a weird thing. I love it. Now I’m thinking about ice. I want to find some ice.
The baby will be Usher’s first child, and Tameka’s fourth. Tameka, 37, hopes she will be able to opt for a natural childbirth, but isn’t sure that will work out.
I don’t want drugs. I’ll try. I say that now. You call me about ten hours into labor. I’ll be asking for everything. Vicodin and everything.
The couple married in a private ceremony in Atlanta last month, after canceling the lavish July ceremony they planned in the Hamptons.

ice lol good thing she’s due in december otherwise she’d be out in the snow(in some parts of the U.S. at least) down on her hands and knees……..eating off the ground ya know?

craving ice can mean an iron deficiency….hopefully she gets that checked out to make sure she’s ok…

I may be wrong, but to be a Jr, 3rd, 4th, etc, aren’t you supposed to have the full name carried on?

apparently ice is a pretty common craving and does not necessarily mean iron deficiency/anemia. (i sit here at 36 weeks eating a cup full of ice with a recently checked, completely normal iron level.) but i do wonder with tameka’s age – if the doctors have told them some news that has scared them…

ICE! Me too! I ate ice constantly through both pregnancies. I became a real connoisseir. For work I packed my water bottle with just ice cubes from home and within a few hours they would be the perfect size and texture. A little breakfast diner in town has the best ice- tiny cubes with the perfect’bite’ and so for a real treat I’d go fill up my cup with ‘just ice’ to go.

i loved ice too…. i love that “hospital” ice thats the tiny pieces and they arent really hard. When I had both of my kids I was begging for it, and when I had my 2nd, my “personal care assistant” was my best friends sister.. so I kept buzzing her for that ice. she probably hated me after that but… I’d eat some ice RIGHT NOW! lol

You can carry on the name with changing the middle name. He won’t be a fifth, but I think Usher just wants to the first name carried on mainly.
