Jason Sehorn and Angie Harmon join Together For Kids

Former NFL star Jason Sehorn, 36, and his wife, actress Angie Harmon, 35, have joined forces with with the new fundraising foundation Together For Kids.  The foundation will "raise funds nationally to help member hospitals cope with dramatic increases in the health needs of children." Jason and Angie became a part of this foundation because of their own children, daughters Finley Faith, 4 next month, and Avery Grace, 2.  Jason stated at a press conference,

As parents, Angie and I know that nothing is more important thankeeping our kids healthy and safe. As a country, we need tomake an investment in the future of our children.

Having their own children has concerned the couple with the status of children’s hospitals. Jason stated,

Since the 1980s, the percentage of overweight children has jumped from sixpercent to 18 percent, the number of children with asthma has doubled, andthe number of uninsured children has risen to more than 11 percent of allkids. While the needs are increasing, funding for children’s hospitals isnot keeping pace.

With children of our own, Angie and I areconcerned, and that’s why we’re so glad that Together for Kids has beencreated to support the critical work of children’s hospitals in caring forseriously ill and injured kids, and to make a focused effort on the issuesof childhood obesity and injury prevention.
