Levels of Discovery Potty Chair

T_rab40003 At two years old (and a few days), my son Ben isn’t that interested in the potty. In fact he won’t go near it. Since we will be having another baby in 3 months, I wanted to at least start encouraging it so I don’t have two in diapers – a fact which unfortunately will happen anyway. Most boys take longer to train than girls, according to all my cousins and girlfriends, but I wanted to at least try!

After buying two other potties, he actually was a little interested in one of them, which I’ll call the "Fancy Potty". Though instead of sitting on it, he tries to take it apart. I began to search around for some options.
I found the Levels of Discovery Potty Chair (Sean Preston Federline has the His Majesty’s Throne, bought by mama Britney Spears). I was interested in it because Ben actually likes sitting on little chairs. The company was kind enough to send me one. It was easy to put together and has an adorable look.

I already know it was a good choice. Ben actually will sit on this potty chair in our bathroom. He asks to sit on it, but he won’t do his business yet. The potty insert can be taken out and a panel fits perfectly to make it a proper chair. The design is cute, ours says "Its Potty Time" and has an actual working timer and says "Time moves slow when you want to go!" on it. The removable plastic container lifts out for easy clean-up and comes with a removable deflector (for the little boys!).

Anyone have any tips on what worked for them during toilet training?

One Response to “Levels of Discovery Potty Chair”

  1. Karen Says:

My son was two when we began the potty training process. So I began researching potty training and a common theme seemed to be praise and positive reinforcement. I came across a website called http://www.pottytrainingrewards.com. We hung it in the kitchen and named the little boy on the front of the package, Bobby. My son could not wait to go to the potty so he could push the button, hear the praising message, and get his chocolate reward from, Bobby. It really got my son excited about using the potty himself and it was fun for him. Because he became so involved, potty training was easy. He was doing his business in his potty the very first day. So give it a try. Best of luck!
