OK, Isn’t all this travel bad for pregnant women? Especially to different countries where you might catch a bug?
Note from Danielle, CBB Publisher: There’s no reason why Nicole shouldn’t travel.
I spoke to About.com’s Pregnancy Guide Robin Elise Weiss, who told me, “Travel is not restricted in a healthy pregnancy until the very end when labor is most likely. Most countries don’t require immunizations and even if they did, many are still used in pregnancy. The issue with travel becomes maternal comfort. Hopefully Nicole is drinking enough clean water, stretching and walking when she can.”

I am starting to get worried that she hasn’t gained enough weight to have a healthy baby. She looks only about 5 months along to me, but is due in 2 months. Traditionally, small women tend to look much larger during pregnancy than this and I hope she can gain enough for a healthy baby. My best girlfriend is about Nicole’s size normally and she looked uncomfortably large in the belly area for 4 months of her pregnancy.
I hope I am wrong and she has an 8 pounder, but I think it doesn’t look that way.

Does this woman do ANYTHING but relax? Does she have a job? Does she do charity work? Frankly, I’m tired of seeing pictures of her on the beach. What does she do, what has she ever done to merit this kind of attention? I had to work fulltime until the day before I gave birth with my first child. I am NOT impressed by photo upon photo of Nicole Richie spending her pregnancy lolling about by the pool or on the beach. We shoudl all be so lucky!

alright, wth? do these people have jobs? last week they’re in hawaii, now they’re in Aust. I wish I could do nothing and get paid for it.

Beverley- My cousin, who is due the same week as Nicole, looks exactly like her. Same size belly, and for now at least, the rest of her looks the same as it did before she got pregnant. And she is a health freak and eating really well (healthy food but TONS of it.) Everyone is different and not everyone gets gigantic. I think Nicole has definitely gained weight. She is still skinny but does not look TOO skinny anymore.

my friend didnt show at all until 33 weeks. she went from a UK size 10 to a size 14 over that time, but at 33 weeks she popped and finally looked pregnant.
and gave birth to a healthy 6lbs 7oz baby.

I saw this on some celebrity news show last night. They had pictures of Joel with his Ipod ear phones on Nicole’s belly, playing music for the baby.

Nicole is only 5′1″ and at 5′9″ Joel is not extreamly tall. Regardless of her weight, it is likely that they will have a small baby.
Plus, the mother’s weight gain has nothing to do with baby size. My smallest (7 lb. 2 oz.) was after a 25 lb weight gain and with my largest baby (8 lb. 15 oz.) I only gained 11 lbs. And yes, 11 lbs was a healthy weight gain for me because I was overweight at the time.

Wow, that bathing suit finally fits her! Some of you may recognize this bikini from a picture a few years ago when Nicole looked anorexic. That bikini was literally sagging on her back then. I’m glad to know she finally filled it!

The only thing I’m slightly worried about is the fact that she is laying on her back, which shifts all of the weight on top of the vena cava, right? I thought that even this early that was bad. Maybe not :/

I wasn’t much larger than her around the same time. In fact, at 7 months pregnant, some people at work still couldn’t tell I was pregant. I measured on the low-end the entire pregnancy and only put on about 20lbs, but my son was 8lbs 5oz. I wouldn’t put too much stock on how things ‘appear’ to be.

She’s not lying flat which is what I was told to avoid, just reclined.
As to the baby weight, my sister only put on 18lbs with her baby, she only had to unbutton the top button on her jeans at 9 months, and her son was 10lb 11oz!
I’m sure she will have a lovely baby.

I flew from the UK (Edinburgh) to Florida when I was about the same stage of pregnancy. The rules of the airline we flew with were that the only restriction was you couldn’t fly if you were in labour – lol! It may be better for her to be with her partner, and possibly he doesn’t want to miss any stage of her pregnancy.

I layed on my back ALOT while pregnant. Laying on your left side increases blood flow to the baby which in turn provides more oxygen to the baby. Nothing wrong with laying on your back, just left side is better.
Also, she does look skinny yes but there is no reason she should pack on alot of weight all at once. She has gained alot of weight compared to what she was before as everyone can remember. She isn’t going to be huge even at the end of her pregnancy and looks great for her gestation. My belly was the same size as her’s is right now at the same stage of my pregnancy. There would be a few weeks I would look the same and then the next week POP out, then slow in stomach size again for another week or two. I didn’t really get a big stomach until I was 36 weeks.
Everyone is different when it comes to how their body changes during pregnancy. She looks healthy, from what the photos say… she is eating healthy, and I think as she gets to the last few weeks of her pregnancy she will look like a very pregnant woman. Christina has a due date around the same time she does and to me, they look about the same size in the belly but no one is saying that her stomach is too small……

Since when is Australia a country where you “might catch a bug”?! You don’t need to be immunized to come here, don’t have to boil the water and would rarely catch a tropical disease! The only thing you’d want to be careful about would be the flying in your last trimester, which some airlines won’t allow.
I would imagine they’re also stopping in to visit Benji’s fiance Sophie Monk’s folks who live in QLD. She’s a Brisbane/Gold Coast girl.
As for size, she is lying on her back. My best friend looked pregnant standing up but when she was on her back up until her sixth month, the bump all but disappeared.

My kids were both almost 9, and I gained 60 pounds the first time, and 16 months later I gained 10 pounds and gave birth to a 9 pound baby!! I was overweight at the time from the first one, so it was also healthy for me too

I love how Nicole is not afraid to show off her baby bump and she seems alot more healthy now which is a good thing for the babys sake. I bet they are going to be great parents and there baby is going to be so cute!

She looks great, she is literally all belly and thin everywhere else. I think her baby will be healthy, she is a small girl so I wasn’t expecting to see her huge by 6 months.
