I looooove this family! Keep the pics coming! Violet is so adorable and always looks like she’s having a blast, whatever they’re doing. I’m glad they’re enjoying NYC for the fall/upcoming holidays!

Can I just ask a quick question as someone w/o kids and always perplexed (and light weight annoyed) by this phenomenon…why do people still refer to children over the age of 1 year old in terms of months?? The above says Violet is 22 months. Why don’t they just say 2, for pete’s sake!? I saw some toys in the drug store aisle last night that said, ‘up to 36 months.’ Just say 3!! How long does this go on – I mean, 48 months? 72 months? I don’t understand this at all. When I have a kid, after they turn one, they’re either 1, 1&1/2, 2, 2&1/2 and so on. Ok, I guess it is a super annoying pet peve. In all honesty I would like to know from a doctor or something, so I can let this go. Thanks for the rant space.
Sarah’s note: Doctors/developmental specialists usually refer to children in months up to age two because of the wide developmental differences in the first two years. Calling a 13 month old 1, a 17 month old 1, and a 21 month old 1 are all very different things developmentally. We don’t say 2 because Violet isn’t two yet.

(First of all, 22 months is 1 year old, not 2!)
I must admit that before I had a child, I would get confused by the months thing for a child between 1 and 2. But now that I have a daughter (who is 21 months), I find that I tell people her age in months. I think it remains that way until a child is 2, at which point it is better to say “she is 2″ or “she is 2 and a half.” Sometimes, when I am talking to someone without kids, I will say “she will be 2 in January” because I think that is easier. I also used to hate when people said how pregnant they were in terms of weeks — very confusing to those that don’t know pregnancy is 40 weeks. Of course now, I tell people that I am 23 weeks pregnant — but, again, to those that don’t know, I say 5 months.

She is getting so big! And I love the fact that Violet is wearing the same outfit as she did one day last week. We hardly ever see that from the “celebrity world.”

Violet is just a little sweetheart. And she’s getting to be such a big girl. Not looking so much like a baby. And maybe my eyes are playing tricks, but she seems to be getting taller, too.
LOL, and I love Ben’s mountain man look.

Violet is one of the spunkiest kids around ain’t she? She’s so cute – a perfect mix of Jen and Ben. The blonde hair is so wild contrasted with their dark hair. Wonder if it will get darker as she ages?? Anyway, a cute family would love to see a baby boy Affleck someday!

WAHOOOOOO it’s my favorite family–in NYC! i absolutely love this family–I mean look at them…husband and wife and their daughter just taking a walk–no fancy stuff–no 6 inch heels, no huge entourage, nothing pretentious at all–just any family you’d see out for a walk…and somehow, that makes me love them even more…Violet is seriously the most adorable…I love her little hair blowin in the wind as she takes off down the sidwalk…haha she’s too cute…totally the perfect mix of Ben and Jen…such personality!
And I have to agree with the person above that I ADORE seeing her in the bibs she had on in the other pictures a few days ago–I mean how much more normal do you get?! ADORE this family and so look forward to all the pics we get to see of them…

Cute pics
They are so lucky they aren’t hounded and surrounded by a lot of paps so they can walk down the sidewalk in peace.

Susannah: I remember seeing a funny movie where someone made fun of this subject, saying something along the lines of: ‘My Harry is 659 months old…’ I don’t remember which movie it was, might have been a Woody Allen movie.
BTW, I heard that “Gone Baby Gone” is one of the best movies ever made about Boston, and since I’m from there, I can’t wait to see it. Has anybody here seen it?
