Rachel Weisz says motherhood led her to choose new film role
Starring in films like The Constant Gardner, in which she plays the murdered wife of a civil servant, can take a toll on an actor according to Rachel Weisz, 36. So when she gave birth to son Henry Chance, 17-months, Rachel says "something really funny happened" — she began to yearn for some lighter fare on the work front.
I had my first child, and I’d been doing lots of very serious, dramatic roles…I’d been dying a lot in these films; there was lots of blood. And I suddenly thought, ‘I really want to be in a comedy.’
Rachel can next be seen in Fred Claus opposite Vince Vaughn; Henry is the first child for she and her fiance, filmmaker Darren Aronofsky.

That’s why she’s playing in “lovely bones” at the moment! Such a light-hearted book made into a movie.

I can relate – after the birth of my daughter, I had to temporarily give up my steady diet of dire news and information. There’s only so much peak oil and global warming information your brain can hold at the forefront when trying to raise new life.

Yeah I can’t wait to see her in The lovely bones!! There filming right around the corner from my house in a few weeks! Can’t wait!! But I don’t think that film is going to be any less dramatic since it centers around her daughter being murdered!!!!
