John Stamos’ mom puts the pressure on

Tags: Adoption, News, Quotes

When it comes to dropping hints about wanting to be a grandma again, Loretta Stamos isn’t exactly being subtle — She wants a new grandchild, and she wants it now!  Her son, ER star John Stamos, would make a great dad according to Loretta, who looks no further than John’s rapport with his nieces and nephews as proof.

He’s just has a great time with them and they adore him. They just hang all over him and he’s very good to them, so I know he would make a marvelous father. And he’s going to make a marvelous husband too when he finds the right woman.

John, who recently said that he wouldn’t be adverse to an adoption, can have just one child "or a dozen" — Loretta says she doesn’t care.

I truly hope that he finds a lovely woman, marries her and I don’t care if he adopts a baby — I think that would be marvelous — or if he has a baby, either way it would be marvelous.

If he does become a father and happens to have a son, there won’t be much debate when it comes to the name game, for the baby would be named William John per family tradition, according to Loretta.

That’s the way the Greeks do it. It’s William John Stamos, John William Stamos and it goes on and on. So we need a grandson named after my husband.

John, 44, is currently single.  He and actress Rebecca Romijn were divorced in 2005.

Wow, a future mother-in-law who starts off by telling you that 1) you’d better have a boy baby and 2) what you’re going to name it. Any woman with sense would put a thousand miles between herself and that sort of mil.

  2. Lyn Says:

I have loved John Stamos since the Uncle Jesse days and would have his babies any day!! He is so hot!!

  3. Aleah Says:

I’m half Greek myself and I hate that tradition of naming your children after your parents! Every Greek girl I know is called Maria, Eleni, Katerina, Anna or Theodora, and all boys are Yannis (John), George, Nikos or Konstantinos! It ends up being boring having only the same set of names.

  4. sil Says:

omg I think it will be difficult for John to find a wife (or mother for his child/ren) knowing how the future mother-in-law thinks! LOL

  5. Jeri Says:

I’m here John! I will have your babies! Im willing to name them whatever you want! I dont know why he is still single, he is one of the hottest men out there!

  6. Viviana Says:

OH MY! With such a mother-in-law, now I know why he’s still single.

Geez John, you better have a serious talk to you mother… you might be surprised how many women could ran as fast as they can with such ‘lovely’ future.

  7. M Says:

I am convinced that John would be a great dad. I was lucky enough to be in the audience of Full House and I saw him interact with the twins playing his kids on the show. He’s a natural.
John’s mom is a great woman too (after all, she raised him!) and I’m sure she’ll be a wonderful mother-in-law.
Who cares if the name of the baby is already picked.
I’m available :) Well, not quite… I am married but that’s just a detail. Oh yeah, and I’m very good at having boys :)

  8. teenyz Says:

40? Only 40. I doubt that. That would make him what, 15 when he started General Hospital and 20 at the start of Full House.

Sarah’s note: Yes, Missy made a mistake. I’ll correct the post. Thanks.

  9. gianna Says:

I love john, and he is very close to his mother I heard. Anyway I will be willing to have babies with you john, just call me lol. I do love the name john though, even though it’s common it’s a strong boy name IMO. John is hot, so will his baby I bet.

  10. stephanie Says:

I’ve been having Full House marathons and watching him with the kids, I would’ve thought he’d have a gazillion of them by now!

  11. New Yorker Says:

I always thought John Stamos would make a perfect match for Jennifer Aniston. They are both divorcees, single, good looking, have no children (not that having any would have been a problem) and both GREEK! lol. If only there was a way to hook them up! *Hmmm thinking* Any suggestions? lol

  12. DD Says:

Dudes, Just leave him alone! If he is fine out in the world just by himself than let him be!
