Joel Madden says he, Nicole are low-key leading up to baby’s birth
As they prepare for impending parenthood, Joel Madden, 28, says he and girlfriend Nicole Richie, 26 — who is due to deliver their first child in January — are taking it easy.
We’re excited, happy and spending a lot of time at home. … Just normal, couple-expecting-a-baby stuff.
Speaking of home, Joel says that music is a constant at their house, and the baby-to-be is often treated to "old stuff, new stuff, classic stuff, movie soundtracks." Meanwhile, Joel’s identical twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Benji Madden, 28, is eager to educate his new niece or nephew "about life." Added Benji,
I could coach the tee-ball team! Or teach them in soccer, whatever they want to do.

Nicole has really impressed us with her turn around from party girl to Mom-to-be. Do they have multiple homes, or are they based in Hollywood area, or where will they have the baby? thanks

What’s up with Benji referring to the baby as “they”? Is he not good with pronouns or is Nicole expecting more than 1? She certainly doesn’t look like she’s carrying more than 1!
Nicole has done a great job in turning her life around. And she has a good pregnancy style. I’m looking forward to seeing how she dresses the little one!

Charity- My guess is that Benji is simply using “they” to refer to the baby since Nicole and Joel have chosen not find out the sex (and therefore no one else knows either). He probably didn’t feel comfortable calling the baby “it”, so he decided to say “they” instead.
