Jennie Garth talks about lessons of DWTS for daughters

Tags: News, Quotes, Video

Although her run on Dancing With The Stars came to an end last night, Jennie Garth says that she’s glad she took a chance by appearing on the show, and she’s proud of making it to the final four.  Jennie — mom to Luca Bella, 10, Lola Ray, turning 5 next month and Fiona Eve, 13-months — said she hopes her performance taught her daughters "a valuable lesson."

Really putting my mind to it and knowing that if I wanted to accomplish something I could work hard and I could do it.  I really didn’t think I could do it at the beginning. I was doubting myself thinking what am I doing? But to work it out and stick to it is a valuable lesson not only for me but my girls, too.

The girls are Jennie’s children with actor husband Peter Facinelli; The two have been married since 2001.  Peter was in the audience last night with Luca, and Lola and Fiona was there as well, but backstage.  Noted Jenny,

My family was so supportive, with me all the way.

I think you mean that Peter was in the audience with Luca, and Lola was often in attendance as well. I’ve never seen baby Fiona in the audience.

I was so bummed she left lastnight. I put all my votes to her everytime. I will miss her alot. Last night was sweet when Peter was hugging Luca. She looked sad but also happy to have her mom back. :)

  3. E Says:

That picture makes me smile everytime I see it. I just want to eat that little Fiona up!

  4. Annie-Kate Says:

I wonder why her elder two girls both have names starting with “L” and ending in “A”, and then little Fiona has a different name. Hopefully she doesn’t feel left out when she grows up!

  5. Emeline Says:

For me, the fact that Fiona does not have a first name starting with a “L” as her sisters is absolutely not a problem. Quite to the contrary. That will differentiate them more and they will have each one thus their own identity. I am rather content that Jennie and Peter chose a first name which does not start with a “L”.
Jennie is just a wonderful person, down to earth who adore her family.

  6. Pam Says:

    Annie-Kate,
When Jennie was pregnant, she had said that she wanted to, but Peter didn’t. Here’s the post and the quote:
‘I want to go with another L name, however, my husband feels very strongly against it…so we will see. I need to see her, and then we will decide which name fits.’

But they did use Jennie’s middle name – Eve – for Fiona, so she got her way in some part!

  7. Lu Says:

For some strange reason i can’t view the video, can someone help me out with it, is it posted anywhere else.

Sarah’s note: I added a link to the ET website underneath the video, hopefully that will work if you can’t see the video.

  8. Lu Says:

Thanks for the link. How cute was little Fiona. And Luca is beautiful, just like her mom. Jennie is wonderful, sucha great mom, somebody to I’d aspire to be.
