Lara Spencer on reindeer food and filled stockings
Living in Greenwich, CT with husband David Heffenreffer and kids David ‘Duff’, 5, and Katherine ‘Kate’ Paige, 3, The Insider host Lara Spencer, 38, shares their Christmas traditions.
Christmas Eve, I fill their stockings with so many little goodies that they practically fall off the mantel. When the kids wake, they peek over the stairs and the first thing they see are the stockings overflowing. That’s how you know Santa came.
We leave reindeer food — glitter and pencil shavings — on the lawnthe night before. It may seem silly, but these are the traditions thatmade Christmas special to me. I want to give that to my kids. I want togive my kids the holiday experience I had.

Wow this is so cool! I live in Greenwich, and although I have never personally met or seen Laura this was very cute. Thanks CBB, I’ll have to check that issue of People out!

Duff’s just a nickname; he is a David, so they use it to differentiate him from Daddy

We use glitter and oatmeal flakes instead of the pencil shavings – the reindeer seem to enjoy this combo better
